MVMCP - Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know...

To everyone one worried about going without kids, DON'T WORRY!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes There are a lot of "grown ups" there without kids. And if you get in a character line in front of me (who has a kid) I will NOT give you dirty looks! I will volunteer to take your picture together if there is no photopass person there!!! (ditto for people at character meals without children!) It's your vacation too so do what makes you happy!!

Have fun!!! :santa:

Dh and I are going and we don't have kids. Didn't know it's a problem. :confused3

It's really not, but some folks feel uncomfortable thinking the parties are just for kids. Believe me - they are for everyone!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if you can use your Disney rewards dollars for MVMCP tix? I'm assuming you can, but don't want to transfer dollars unless I know I can use them!

Nix this question - you can use your reward dollars - there's even an option right on the screen to do it!

Another question, though. How does the e-ticket work? It says you can print them on your printer, but don't the tickets need to be the cards that you put into the turnstyles? Can't figure out how this would work...

The e=tickets will have a bar code on them, they can scan that barcode at the turnstile and then you'll get a hard ticket.

Cool - now if I choose will call, it says I can pick up the tix anywhere they sell theme park tix. Could I get them at my local Disney store? That would be very convenient.

Here is an update regarding AP discount MVMCP tickets.

Today I went onto the passholders site and all the discounted dates are now listed when you go into the purchasing screen.
I purchased tickets to the 12/13 party at the AP price.

We saw this show on Thursday, 11/12. We went to the first show at 7:30. We got our seats around 6:45. It was a long wait, but they had already started serving hot chocolate at cosmic ray's so dh brought us a tray of it and cookies to enjoy while we waited. We were in the first row on the left (looking at the stage). Belle's helpers came out a few minutes before the show and asked some of the kids to help out during the show, and my dd was maestro (probably spelled that wrong!!) :-) It was a really cute show but it does fill up fast! Immediately after the show we were able to catch the Celebrate the Seasons show right in front of the castle at 7:45. We didn't bother with the new stitch show, dh said he heard it while waiting in line for something with dd, and heard buzz lightyear rapping about christmas... not something I would want to make time for!!

Thanks - great info!

We went to our first MVMCP on 11/17. The parade was even better than Spectromagic! Tip: when you think there are no seats on Main Street left, look in front of the garbage cans! There is always room there! We sat in our usual spot that we sit in for all WDW parades and had a perfect view. I took perfect video of the whole parade. I took about 3 hours of video and about 500 plus pics on our 7 days vacation. To view the castle lighting and show we stayed near the Walt statue so we could see the whole thing light up.

Another tip: If you have small children take the time to take a nap before the party! We also brought our umbrella stroller for our 4 year old. You can get your picture taken with Stitch at the hot chocolate stand near the Jungle Cruise.

We were watching the show at the castle and Main Street was packed when we got back. We had several photo pass pics taken at night but didn't purchase any. We used the discounted photo pass throughout the trip and did get two pics when we got home.

We rode Pirates with three other people. Small World was also Empty. We rode Peter Pan for the first time without a wait. It was awesome! No long lines! Hot chocolate in the mid 70's was a bit strange though. We ate right when we got in the park around 430pm (sorry can't see its 5am lol) at Cosmic Rays.

I thought the tickets were well worth the price! We saw all the monorail resorts during the day but they were only starting at the Contemporary Resort. The gingerbread house was up at the Grand Floridian though.

Thank you tinkmom2 for that great update! I can not wait to go!!! :cool1:

I have finally saved enough to buy my MVMCP tix!
I have a Disney Rewards Dollars Card that I had planned to buy our adult beverages with while at the world. Now I am wondering if I should use those Disney Rewards Dollars to pay for MVMCP tickets instead and just use cash for drinks...

Any thoughts?

If you have enough rewards, I would use them for the MVMCP tix as you know they will get used. You may not end up buying enough adult beverages to use up all your rewards.

We went to MVMCP last night and we watched the parade from a spot I have never watched it from before. We stood by the funnel cake place. I thought it was a great spot because a lot of the floats ended up stopping right in front of us until the bridge was cleared.

Can anyone tell me where the funnel cake place is? Thanks!:thumbsup2

They are so nice there at Sleepy Hollow! They gave me directions on how to find the Dole whip!:thumbsup2

I have just caught up on reading through this thread (it's been a couple of weeks) and just saw that Disney is offering a military discount on party tickets.

I bought my tickets at the price they were charging a couple of months ago, received them and started counting down the days, 1 week from tonight is when we are scheduled to attend. What do you recommend I do to try and re-coup the difference in price, if they will even do that? Should I call the ticketing office or wait till we get there? It's an unusual situation because from what I understand, they will want to see my DH's ID card.

Thanks for your help!!
