I think that these tend to sell out, so it might be a good thing to buy in advance. On the other hand, I don't like to invest too much money in advance of a trip, since i'm never sure if we'll definitely be able to go or not. So for things that I can put off until I'm stateside, i wait and hope there will be tickets left.

i would buy before you go, we did, and we saw alot of people get turned away because the events were fully booked

I think that it really depends on what night you are planning on going, some of the more popular nights, for example Fri's sell out quite quickly. However for some of the other nights people bought tickets on the same day! We bought our tickets before we went. Personally I wouldn't like to leave it to chance!

We were in Disney for Christmas last year and lots of these nights sold out beforehand leaving many disappointed people.

We've been to MVMCP twice - 1999 and 2004 - both times on the last night of the party which sold out before we left the UK.

If you definately want to go, I'd buy the tickets in advance! :thumbsup2

Only joined the DIS at the weekend so my reply is a little delayed. we are also going at Xmas (16.12-3.1) and i'm really interested in getting hold of 3 tickets for MVMCP. I've been having alook aroun on the internet and they don't seem to be on sale yet. like yourself i would be interested if you have any more details about it.

MVMCP tickets usually go on sale in May :)

We went on December 18th last year and this day had sold out before we arrived in Florida. It was the last but one Party.

We enjoyed the event, although to get to see all the shows, fireworks, parades etc., and get your photo and cookies you do need to plan carefully.
We did miss one of the shows on the night, but were able to see the show later in our holiday.

AP discounts are usually available for selected dates.

Also, last year you could book dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern at the same time as buying your MVMCP tickets (so you don't need to wait until 180 before making your ADR).

Tim - do you have to purchase tickets there in order to get the AP discount or can you pre order?

I believe you can pre-order. I would imagine you would need to have either the AP or the AP vouchers to be able to get the discount though.

Thanks Tim.
We were going to wait and buy tickets when we arrived but after reading this thread we are going to pre order!

If we pre order can we pick them up at the resort or do we have to have them sent to the UK?

chip n dale fans will you be pre ordering?

Can you only pre order if you have an annual pass, and if you can pre order without an AP do you have to reserve them direct through Disney?

We pre-ordered via Disney by phone and the tickets were sent via courier direct to our door :)

Anyone can order a MVMCP tickets, not just AP holders. Just call:

Sorry to ask another question but I can't decide if we should go - Are there any exclusive "party only" events that you only see on the night or would we get to see it all during regular park hours (we'll be there from 14th Dec - 3rd Jan)

Thanks

While the MVMCP nights are on, the events like the Christmas Parade, the special Christmas shows etc. can only be seen during a MVMCP. After the last MVMCP of the season the shows and parades can then be seen during normal park hours.

You do get the hot chocolate and cookies and the family photo during MVMCP that you wouldn't get at any other time. Also, with numbers being limited you can enjoy rides and shows without small lines during MVMCP.
There are also special pins and merchadise (t-shirts etc.) that you can only buy during a MVMCP.
It's also a nice festive atmosphere - especially watching the Christmas Parade on Main Street with snow falling :)

It sounds like we could see it all without going to the party but looks like we will have to go to get the special pins and the hot chocolate :surfweb:
