I just ordered some MVMCP tickets over the phone with DVC member services. The csr gave me a confirmation number for the order. She said I could assign this number to people in MDE and use our bands for entry without having to go to will call and pick up tickets.

That sounds strange to me, because having just purchased Annual Passes not long ago, I know I have to get the actual AP cards printed and update MDE with the actual ticket numbers before the associated bands will work.

So was the DVC cm right about being able to use our bands for entry if I associate the order confirmation number with us in MDE or do I actually have to go to will call?

Last time we went to a hard ticket event the recommendation was to not even try to associate the tickets with MDE.

"Safest" thing to do: Go to any ticket booth or Guest Relations at WDW with your ID and confirmation number(s) and pick up hard plastic tickets for the party.

Another (lesser) choice is to input your confirmation number(s) into MDE and then, when the tickets appear
in MDE, assign them to individual members of your group.
Then, JUST BEFORE you enter MK for the party, go to a guest relations and have the CM set your party tickets the to the highest PRIORITY.
That way, party tickets (and not your regular tickets) will be assured to be used "next."

We went to three MVMCP last week and the magic bands worked perfectly. The tickets were linked to the bands, prior to our departure.

I was at guest services because we upgraded to Annual Passes and asked if we should print hard tickets. She looked at our MDE account and said it was not necessary since they were linked. I kind of would have preferred to have the tickets as well, but did not ask for them. We had no problems and the bands worked great.

For reference, we got one party wristband on right at entry (we came just after 7:00 the first night) and then got the other two by Mickey Philharmagic. They had scanner to read the magic bands and most people were admitted by bands (as opposed to hard tickets).
