O.K. - now I know I'm really obsessing! According to the running thread at the top of this forum - everyone and their brother will be at MVMCP on Tues 11/30. But common sense tells me that Sun (the weekend after Thanksgiving) would be really crowded. I think I only saw one post on that forum for someone going on the Sunday.

I want to go real bad - but just hate to go when it is soooo crowded. Wish Disney would post an idea of how many tickets have been sold for different days, etc.

So - any opinions for the obsessing one!

I am planning on going 11/28. I thought that most of the Thanksgiving crowds will be checking out on Sunday. I ran this by a CM friend of mine and she agreed. So I will see. I'm staying with my Father and I'm waiting for him to make up his mind about going before I buy the tickets. I told him that they sale a limited number of tickets, so he needs to make his ming up quick. Needless to say, I'm still waiting.LOL!

I went to the Sunday after Thanksgiving MVMCP last year - it wasn't all that crowded at all. Lots of people go home that day.

FWIW, I've been to MVMCP on either Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays the week after Thanksgiving for the past several years (since 1998). IMHO, there isn't a significant difference in "crowd level" between Sundays and Tuesdays. Just pick the day that works best with your schedule and then quit second guessing yourself. It will be fine!.

I've also learned that you cannot judge crowds by posts on the DIS - what really makes the difference in how crowded the parks are is the number of off site and "local" guests. The number of people who post here to say they are going on a particular day/night is just a drop in the proverbial bucket. Don't get concerned about the length of the "Who's going When" threads - you'll just end up second guessing yourself for nothing!

Best wishes -

Thanks for the feedback. It is also funny what the term crowded means to some. My niece went the Sunday after Thanksgiving last year and she thought it was very crowded. So - it really is hard to determine what "crowded" means to some.

The one year we went, I found it more crowded than I expected it to be. Expectations is another on of those iffy things. If we expect the conditions to be one way and they are not - then it may seem crowded.

Anyway - thanks for the tips.

kaguilbeau-I'm one of those people that are going to MVMCP on 11/30. There are a few of us but really not too much. If you look, its really the same people posting over and over.
Have fun whatever date you decide :)

Hi neighbor! I'm from Baton Rouge!

We're debating on the 28th or the 30th also. I think I'm actually leaning more towards the 30th myself because we arrive very late on the 27th after our wedding and I'm just not sure if we'll be too tired from post-wedding stress to stay up late and do MVMCP on the 28th. I was also a bit concerned as it seems to be a lot of Dis'ers there, but I think we'll give it a whirl anyway! I've read that the earlier you get after Thanksgiving is the best times to go anyway. Once you get closer to Christmas things start selling out much faster.

Good luck with your decision!

Hi Desiree - and congrats on the upcoming wedding stuff.

I'm sure either date will be fine too. I know we will need some down time that day in order to make it through the night.

I'm refusing to try and do parks on Thanksgiving, Friday and Saturday - so that only leaves Sun-Wed to do all four parks. Actually, I'm looking forward to my non-park days to do the Boardwalk, DTD, view decorations at resorts, rent bikes at hotel, etc.
