Planning on making a trip to WL in early December. When are the dates for MVMCP? Also, there are 2 adults, 3 kids (9,6,3). What would be the most economical room type to go for? We have already used our points for this year.
Thanks

Dates for the 2004 MVMCP events haven't been released yet. If the historical pattern from the past few years holds true, then I would guess the dates to be:

11/30, 12/2, 12/3
12/5, 12/7, 12/9, 12/10
12/12, 12/14, 12/16 & 12/17

There might also be one on 11/27 (Sunday after Thanksgiving)

Can't help you with room types at the WL - have not stayed there.

Best wishes -

Since you are staying at WL not WLV if you can get all 3 kids to sleep in one bed, there regular rooms have 2 queen beds I believe. I think over at POR they have rooms with a pull out 3rd bed, small but enough for one of your children. Since you are not using points you can really go anywhere that sleeps 5 unless you really want to go to WL where the rooms are a little small. A cabin rented in the FW area might be a good idea also, just some thoughts.

I got my tickets 5/2 for December 16th. Got ps at Liberty Tavern at 6:00. We can't wait.

We're arriving from Chicago to Disney on Dec 17th, around 2 p.m. Do you think it'd be too much to checkin, sleep a few hours, and then go to the XMAS party, all on the same day?

DD will be 6.

We've enjoyed going in the past, but it won't kill us if we miss it.

Basically, we go so DD can ride the cars (over and over), and see the parade.

I think we're going to be tired (Flying is getting harder and harder), but am afraid that with the holidays this may be DD's best chance for seeing her MK rides.

FYI - We're going 3 times this year, so if she misses this it won't kill her.

Opinions....

We'll be arriving on the 17th also...around 1 p.m.-from Boston. We got PS at Liberty Tree Tavern for 5:05 and tickets for the MVMCP also. My grandson is 4 (almost 5 at the time of our trip) and he's always been a trooper in the past about our 1st day activities in the parks...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that time won't be an exception. I figure we can all catch up on relaxing the next morning...I just didn't want to miss the Christmas Party activities and decided to take a chance.

This is going to be squeezing it a bit. You're flight gets in around 2. By the time you get your luggage, and get to the resort it is going to be knocking on 3:00. What happens if your room isn't ready when you get there?

The best thing to do if you're wanting to do MVMCP is to try to get some sleep on the flight down. Easier said than done I know. Also, and I hate to put a damper on things right out of the gate, but that is the last Friday for MVMCP. That is probably the best chance for a sellout day. I know this past year MVMCP sold out on the last Friday.

I hope you do get to do it though, it was really wonderful last year, and I wish we were able to get back this holiday season, but APs will run out December 1st, so it's early/mid-November for us this year.

Good Luck and enjoy your trip.

We arrive at 3:05 p.m. on the 17th and have PS for LTT at 5:45. I know we are pushing it but it is the last night and our first time at WDW during the Christmas time so I really want to go. I have heard that not a lot of counter services places are open until the official opening time and I was worried about getting the kids something to eat so I scheduled the PS at LTT. I also wanted to make sure we are done with dinner around the time of the official opening so didn't want any later than this. I am hoping to be at the hotel (WL) no later than 5 p.m. (getting the luggage while DH gets the rental car - that's doable right?) so we can at least put the luggage away before going over. Here's hoping we make it.

I know for sure that Cosmic Rays is open the whole time...doesn't close for the hour from 6:00p to 7:00p.

There's a thread in the Restaurant board listing all the counter service restaurants open for the party...just don't know if they close for that hour!

Last year my family went down on Wednesday, but I couldn't leave until Friday afternoon. They drove down and took my luggage. I flew with just my purse and backpack. My flight got into Orlando about 6:15 or so. I grabbed a cab - dropped me off at the Contemporary - walked (okay, ran) to the MK, and got in the gates at 7:10 where my family was waiting. So it can be done! But of course, I'm an adult, so it would be harder on a child.

Thanks for the encouraging news Praise2Him as well as the hint about the Restaurant Boards Beattyfamily. I will have to check this out. If we feel we can't make it then I may have to cancel the PS for 5:45 an do a counter service. I hope not since I have never done LTT and really would like to see it done up for Christmas.
