Hello! I have never been to the Mickeys very Merry Christmas Party and I just have a few questions.

So to my understnading you have to buy a park ticket AND event ticket to attend the event?

If I decide to go just to the party can I just buy the ticket event or do I still have to buy both?

It is my understanding that the event starts at 7pm but I can get in as early as 4pm. Is this correct?

What rides are typically not open during this event?

Thanks!

You just buy a ticket to the party. You can enter around 4:00. We entered in 2014 at 3:45 p.m. Most of the rides are running. You can find that information on the allears site. It is a fun time! Be sure to watch the fireworks. We tend to watch the late parade and ride during the first one. Enjoy the cookies and hot chocolate too!!!

I have a few questions as well.
How do you make sure that they don’t use a park ticket when you enter the park? Is there a separate entrance if you get in at 4?

Can you book fast passes from 4-6?

If what I have read is correct the fireworks aren’t as projection heavy as HEA so does that mean that it isn’t as important to be in the hub?

Thanks!

They give you a color-coded, paper wrist band for party entrance. That's how they move the non party goers out of the park. No wrist band, you have to leave, NOW. No going into shops, bathrooms, or restaurants.

Not sure on the fastpasses. Someone will chime in with the info.

There is a separate entrance for MVMCP party ticket holders. You won’t “use” a regular park ticket so long as you go through the proper entry point.

Yes, the current Holiday Wishes show does not utilize castle projections like HEA. Only castle accent lighting. However, it is a “180 degree” fireworks show, meaning fireworks are shot from the traditional castle and behind the MK launch points, as well as from locations “around” the MK. One of your best vantage points for the entire show is in the Hub with fireworks “all around you” (in my humble opinion).

Yes, there is a separate entrance. I usually scan my hard party tickets rather than MB just in case...but I tend to be overly paranoid :)
Yes, you can book FP from 4-6
I honestly don't remember about the projections, although the hub is still typically the best place to watch.

There is a whole thread dedicated to MVMCP, you might want to read through....tons of great info there.
