We are going to MVMCP on 12/17 with 4 adults and 3 kids ages 4, 7 and 11. We've never been to Disney at Christmastime and as of now don't care very much about meeting lots of characters. If we do, it would be someone like Santa or Christmas Mickey/Minnie. Planning on doing rope drop at MK in the morning, brunch at Narcoosees, then naps. Coming back to MK in the evening around 5 or so. Priorities are Jingle Cruise (since we'll be at MK in the AM may try to get 5-6pm Jingle Cruise FP if MVMCP tickets aren't allowing FP booking), and seeing the shows and parade.
My questions are:
1. Have you watched the parade from Frontierland before, and if so, would you recommend it? This was our favorite spot to watch MSEP as my boys would spend their time "waiting" at the Frontierland Shooting Gallery and then hop up on one of the elevated platforms there to watch the parade as it passed. I'd like to watch the first parade from here, and then possibly catch the later parade on Main Street as we exit the park.
2. Do you recommend the first or second Frozen Holiday Wish? I'd love to watch the first one as I think it would be nice to see the castle lit up for the first time in the evening, versus it being "re-lit up" for the second time that night. But if the park closes to day guests at 6pm and Frozen Holiday Wish is shortly after that I worry Main Street will be packed with people leaving the park along with people coming into the park for the party.
3. How long are the lines for special cookies/drinks? Based on last year's offerings I made a plan for how to hit up each station as well as see the shows we want to see. Not that we have to stop at every one, but since we've been to MK once a year for several years and we will spend Sunday AM as well as a full day on Wednesday that week and if needed a half day on Thursday, I want to focus on the special entertainment and treats, and squeezing in rides that are walk-on when time allows.
We did WDW for a few years at Spring Break, so curious how the week before Christmas will compare, and a little nervous as I wasn't able to get a few ADR's I'm used to getting at 180 days. Considering no one in our family needs to look at a map in any of the parks, I'm sure we'll be fine.
Thanks for any thoughts and advice!
