MVMCP pictures vs. VISA Meet 'n Greet

Hi everyone! Here's my little dilemma - we are going to MVMCP on 12/15 and eating at LTT that evening with a 6:30 p.m. ADR - couldn't get any early - just happy I got anything! I know that we will miss the beginning of MVMCP with that dinner time and I have heard of the long lines for the family photos at the party if you don't get there early. Are the MVMCP photos really a must-do? I was thinking instead of using our Disney Visa to do the EPCOT Meet 'n Greet to get our family photo taken there? Also, with the new photo option they have in the parks with the roaming photographers (forgot the name), maybe we don't need the MVMCP photo?

Would love any ideas or advice from those who have done this before. Thanks so much!

We went to MVMCP in Dec of 04. Yes the lines were long for the pictures at the beginning of the party. But as the night went on, the lines are shorter. You could get the photo pass thing, but it wont' have that special MVMCP background that you get when you get the pictures. If you can, go twice to the party..

We haven't done the Christmas party but did just do the halloween party so I'm not sure if they do the pics the same way. There were 2 or 3 different places to get pics taken and we usually wait until the end of the evening as the lines are much shorter. We also did the Meet and Greet at Epcot. They take more time posing you. You can pick out a border but it wasn't holiday themed. We also did photo pass - some pics came out good, others didn't - kind of depends on the photographers and how hurried they are.

IMHO, do both if you can. They are both free but other then that it's like comparing apples to oranges. One is a Christmas theme and the other is a photo with some characters.

I got both myself. They are both free and I just couldn't pass them up. The free photo at MVMCP is least crowded right around 7:00p and then as it gets later like during the fireworks, or during the second parade and then it really dies down.

For us the party photo is a tradition. The Visa photo is just a free photo with characters. If I couldn't fit it in, it's ok but I did!

I felt rushed at MVMCP and they only take one picture....and you can't see it beforehand. With the Disney Visa Meet 'N Greet you are in a private room with the characters and they take a couple of pictures (we had 4 different pictures to choose from)...then you can choose which one you want for free. The picture from the Meet 'N Greet is also larger than the MVMCP photo. Do both if you have a chance! If not, I think the Meet 'N Greet is a better option.

Thanks everyone! I won't fret about it too much now and will try to do the MVMCP picture later during the party - thanks for the advice on the lines getting shorter later in the evening! That is great to know! Thanks again!
