I couldn't vote since there is no way that I wouldn't do each one. I'm going solo in late Nov and if I didn't find someone to eat with, I would still do the stand-by line for CP. I just couldn't miss it. And with MVMCP, well, I would be depressed doing something else, knowing I was missing it. Even if I only stayed for a short period of time, it is so festive and beautiful. I love the different shows. I focus on the shows and the parade when I go to the party rather than the attractions.
Definitely do both. You can go see the CP at night when you head to Epcot. They do it from 5:30 on, and it only lasts over an hour. Plus if it's just you, you can just get in line with the rest of the folks and are sure to get a great seat. The MVMCP, that is an all night thing with LOTS to do. You can easily do both! Have a great time.
After going to both last Dec. I voted MVMCP. We really loved it and can't wait to do it again, but this time with a much better plan (spent a lot of time doing the "well, what should we do next?" dance). We also did the CP dinner package and I was very disappointed with the line for the dinner package people. The line was all the way to the far side of Moroco and this was with us getting there in plenty of time. There is no way that all of those people got into the theater since we got rather bad seats on the side behind a tree and there were a lot of people behind us in line. I would never bother with a CP package again unless we were going to eat at one of those places already since you can just sit outside of the pavillion and listen to the beautiful music that way... there really isn't too much to "see" anyway so I don't think that we would miss out.
Another vote for doing both if at all possible. If I was forced to choose one, I guess I would go for MVMCP. But they are both so different and so magical!! Good luck and have a magical trip.
My husband and I always do the CP dinner package, generally twice. MVMCP is not on our "must do" list, though I know it is on many people's. However, on my last solo trip, I did do both and enjoyed them both. (Boy, that is no help at all, is it?)
On my last solo trip, I could only afford to do one and so I chose the CP. Good choice! This year, I'll be there solo again and can't wait for CP. I've never done MVMCP and don't have any desire to. But CP-don't miss it!
They are both great, it would be a hard choice. If money is the issue, unless you are going between Christmas & New Years, you can get into CP without the dining package, especially during the week.
I prefer MVMCP and do it often; I've done the Processional once and I did enjoy it. If I were going solo, I'd pick the Processional and if I were going with a group, I'd pick MVMCP.
So, I voted for the CP but I'd do both if I could.
I voted for MVMCP, only because you listed the CP as the package, and if you're traveling solo (which I envy, lol) you wouldn't need the package to get a seat I wouldn't think.
There are sure to be some DISers going the same time you are!! I'm going solo also, but planning on meeting up with others at various points in my trip. For the most part, the DISers I have met, were at MVMCP. When do you go?
