I have an 8 year old daughter who I am surprising with a trip to Disney next month, originally I had made dinner plans for 1900 Park Fare for her to meet Cinderella and Friends. Today I found out that the same night is MVMCP. Should I cancel my ressies and eat in the park while watching MVMCP or keep the ressies? I tried to call and make earlier ressies but no availability. Please advise! :confused3

What time are your 1900 ressies? It would be great if you could do both!

1900 Park Fare opens at 4:30 p.m. and the Christmas party starts at 7:00 P.m. > If you want you can try going over to 1900 Park Fare like around 4:20 p.m. and see if they will work you in. Last time I went to 1900 Park Fare they were booked up and I called a couple times to try to get in, but they always said they were booked. When I showed up at 4:30 they worked me right in and I did not have to wait. Stuff like this has happend to me before at 1900 Park Fare and other character meals that were booked up. Even the Princess character meal at Norway was able to work me in for there breakfast that was all booked up.

Now I am not going to say that the 1900 Park Fare will for sure work you in, but I have seen them work people in who just showed up without booking a meal at 1900 Park Fare. The only character dinner that you most likely could not get into as a walk in would be Cinderella's Castle. You have a really good chance of getting into any other character meal as a walk in on most days.If it's not like the 4th of July or Christmas Eve that you will be going to Disney you have a good chance of getting into those character meals as a walk in even if they book up, but please remember I am not saying you will for sure get in.

You may allready know that the 1900 Park Fare is at a Magic Kingdom Resort. So it will not take you long to get to the Magic Kingdom for the Christmas party that starts at 7:00 p.m. > Now it's still a good idea to try to book a character meal if you can, to make sure you get in. All I am saying is many times character meals will work you in even if it's Princess Story Book Dinning. Princess Story Book is the hardest character meal to get into save Cinderelly's Castle.

The ressies at Park Fare are at 7:20. What time would I have to leave MK to get there? How long is the Character dining typically? I wish there were some way to make it to both things! :wizard:

On the 14th I have AK planned and it closes at 5pm that day. Could I buy tickets to the MVMCP for the 14th and go into MK that day? My tickets are not park hopping so I am not sure if this is allowed. Would I be able to get from AK at 5pm to MVMCP at 7PM and then do some type of counter service for dinner? Thanks for your expert advice!

You could do that. Your MCMCP ticket is your admission into MK for the party. :thumbsup2

They usually allow people with party tickets into MK starting at 4 p.m. So that is most likely the earliest you could get into MK if you went to AK earlier and you don't have park hoppers. Otherwise, if you don't go to another park, you could use your regular tickets to get into MK earlier than 4 p.m. and then just stay for the party. Yes, you could definitely go to AK until closing and then get to MK for the party and eat counter service. However, I would highly recommend, if you are going to the party, to either get a late a.m. start or get some rest in the afternoon as the party goes until midnight and in my opinion, it is not worth the money if you aren't going to take advantage of the extended park hours.

I do think, if you can't get an earlier res. at 1900 Park Fare, that you are in an either/or situation. With a 7:20 p.m. reservation, you wouldn't get to the party until probably around 8:30 p.m. - at that point, you will have missed quite a bit I think.

We went to MNSSHP this year and MVMCP last year and they are a lot of fun! Maybe you could change your 1900 res. for another night?

The ressies for 1900 are on the 11th. I think I am going to keep those and just buy tickets for MVMCP on the 14th. That way I can leave AK around 5pm or earlier if DD runs out of things to do(not sure how much there is to do at AK). Get over to MK, have some dinner at counter service (since we won't know what time exactly we will get over to MK), then be there for the entire MVMCP. The next day is departure day so DD can sleep in a bit before ME picks us up at 11am. Sound good? Anything I am overlooking? Thanks to all you experts! I appreciate it! :goodvibes

This is just my opinion but doing AK and MVMCP on the same day is going to be rough. That is a VERY long day of alot of walking. Have you considered maybe only doing DTD during the day of MVMCP or doing a very early day somehwere until early afternoon and then going back to your resort for a nap beofre MVMCP?

MVMCP is so wonderful that I would hate for you and your DD to be so exhausted that you would have to leave early or not be able to enjoy it.

Well looks like I may have not booked enough days to do everything! Big surprise. :rolleyes1 Here is what I have planned.

First day- get in at 4:30pm, MK open till 10pm, go to MK to see Spectromagic and Disney wishes, ressies at Crystal palace at 8:30pm

Second day-Epcot with Princess lunch at Norway

Third day- MK all day with ressies at 1900 Park Fare at 7:20

Fourth day-MGM all day dinner ressies at 5pm at 50's Prime Time

Fifth day-MK all day with ressies at Liberty Tree

Sixth day-Animal Kingdom (9am-5pm) breakfast ressies at Dinosaurus

The MVMCP is on day 3,4 and 6. Would you recommend another day for the party or not doing the party at all? Thanks!

Why not skip a park on your 4th day, do the MVMCP that night and do a late start at MGM the next day? Or you could look at which park is having EMH (am) on your 4th day. You could get an early start at that park then head back for a nap then go to MVMCP.

Having a break the morning of your 4th day might not be a bad thing so you can just swim/relax/shop or whatever and then enjoy the night away at MVMCP!
