So many questions... Still on the fence about going to the party!!!

Go to MVMCP? We (2 adults and 13 yr DS) will be there from 11/25 - 11/29, and there are two parties available... our arrival date, Sunday, 11/25 and Tuesday, 11/27. Since we are only in Disney for a few days, I was leaning towards Tuesday and just spending the whole day at MK. And fit the other 3 parks in on the other days.

Is it worth it? What to expect? I don't know anyone personally that has ever went, so I have nobody to ask. We are not huge Disney fans, my son and I like going and my husband could care less. The reason I want to go to the party, is because, I have never went, I don't know when I'll get back to Disney and the Holiday spirit within the party seem awesome.
We would use the time for the rides, shows and parade. We really wouldn't spend a lot of time in line for the characters, even though it would be awesome to see them, I don't want to use the whole party time waiting in line.
On the other hand, I have read a different review that this party is not worth the extra money, that Disney does a great job decorating everything for the holidays that it already puts you in the spirit.

Would we be better just staying all day at the park until 6-7 and then do something else? Disney Springs? Hotel Decorations?

I just have pros and cons for both sides and having a hard time deciding...

I personally love the party.
The atmosphere of the park just changes once the party starts.
I find it worth every penny.
We don't care about M&G's.
We mostly just take in the rides, dance parties, and just walk around with our hot cocoa and cookies.
We also like to "dress the part" with Christmas themed clothing that we wouldn't wear to the parks during the day.
We prefer to not go to MK during the day when we are going to the party that evening although we have a couple times.
Only you can decide what's best.

I love the party.

I only wait in one M & G line. Those lines move so slow & take forever it seems to get a picture. I do like getting a picture with Pooh & tigger each year if the line isn’t real long.

I love the parade & I watch it both times. The parade is one of the main reasons I like to go to the party. And I enjoy the fireworks also.

Usually we ride several of the more popular rides that night as the lines get shorter as the night goes by.

I like going to a different park that day & then going to MK after a early supper. Or going to MK at 4 for the party & getting an early supper in the park.

The party is pricy, but everything at Disney is expensive. However, I really enjoy going & it’s a fun way to spend the evening.

We are adults and love the party! We don’t do the character meets but enjoy the shows, parade, and snacks plus snow on Main Street. We usually are in MK all day and there are special spots starting at 4 to get the wristband and program.

DH, and our 2 DDs (42 &44) are looking forward to the Nov 25 party... and we have been to numerous ones in past visits. In fact, it will be our ONLY park visit this stay.

We have never bothered much with M&Gs, even when travelling with young grandchildren. As the grandkids got older, it’s been all about the rides and the cookies. This time, rides won’t be important, but the parade, fireworks, treats, and atmosphere will be our focus.

We pick out a special ornament each time, and it sends us home in a holiday mood!

I would recommend if you have never been before as it’s a great way to see the Christmas parade and fireworks. Also, the time you are going will be less crowded so you should be able to do more. I would probably not recommend spending the whole day there as that would be a long day. You can enter the park starting at 4 with the ticket.

If you aren't huge Disney fans, my vote would be to pass on the party. We've gone twice now, the last time being December 2017 and, honestly, I felt there were other areas of the resort that were just as festive and didn't cost anything extra to enjoy. MVMCP is fine, but we found the parade to be incredibly long and the fireworks (in particular the castle projections) are quite dated. You can see Holiday Wishes for free from one of the MK resorts or even TTC.

Some alternatives that are just as festive and don't cost nearly as much (they are either included in your park ticket or cost nothing):

Enjoy the holiday offerings at EP - the food booths, storytellers, Candlelight Processional
Enjoy the holiday offerings at DHS - Jingle Bell Jingle Bam, the holiday projections on ToT, the beautiful new decorations they introduces last year
Tour the deluxe resorts - WL and GF, in particular, are gorgeous
Take a sleigh ride at Ft. W and see the holiday decorations

I'm an adult (no kids) and I have been 3x. On one hand, I think everyone should see it once. OTOH, the parties are ridiculously expensive for what they offer. I have never been to a party later than December 14th and 2/3 times the place was PACKED and MISERABLE. I waited 45 minutes in line to get a Coke. Another time waited 45 minutes just to order at Cosmic Rays, then 15 more minutes for the food. The viewing for the first parade is PACKED and MISERABLE. Not nearly as bad for the second one. The cookies are straight out of the box and the hot cocoa is the watery instant stuff --so nothing special there.

There ARE atypical characters out and about and the parade IS fun.

I think doing MVMCP and MNSSHP are worth doing once. They are that good. Then you can decide if you want to do them again. Many find they are worth going back for. There are enough things there that you won't see any other time that make it worth it.

We have been to MVMCP ever year for the past few years. We have enjoyed it very much in the past. However, the past couple of years have been less joyful for us. There is very little change to the parties from year to year and they have become more and more crowded with much longer waits for everything. We have decided to forego it this year. The continually rising cost just doesn’t seem worth it any more for us. I do think everyone should attend at least once though, as the character meet & greets, parade, and fireworks are delightful.
