MVMCP Guest List: Who's coming??? UPDATED to post 225

HOLY GUACAMOLE!!:scared1: DID YOU SEE THE CROWDS? I thought they limit the number of guests so party goers have a chance to do all and see all without fighting through crowds or standing in lines forever to see the 7 dwarfs? :scared1: Thanks for the heads up, it is definitely more crowded then I would have thought. I guess we'll just plan for the worst and hope for the best. :confused3 I'm letting go of preconceived idea of mvmcp and I'm just going to go with it. Hope everyone feels the need to just be kind and :lovestrucfeel the love

During the party many guest spend much of their time enjoying the unique entertainment offerings and character greetings that are only offered during the party. This makes it look more crowded because people aren't waiting in lines for rides. As I recall in the blog there were some pictures of wait times that were relatively low.

The party is awesome and while it looks crowded, it really is nothing like a busy night in July!

:hug:Thank you for some reassurance. While I am one who would like to partake in the 'offerings' especially for the party, I'm not going to waste the night in line ups either. We tend to go in March and I've not seen main street ever look like that except maybe at the very end of a night while we are all filing out. But I'll keep your words of wisdom with my fingers crossed. See ya all soon

Our very first Christmas Party was magical. My wife and I arrived LATE -- the parade was going through and the snow on Main Street was falling and the music playing. It was truly magical. Just take it all in!

Thanks for the tip about the Easy WDW blog. It has some really helpful tips! :thumbsup2
Thank you SO MUCH for the blog link... :)
No problem! My BFF/travel partner made me read it and I'm glad she did! ::yes::

It also depends on what day/party it was that they went to. The weekend parties tend to be a bit more crowded because the locals are able to attend. :)

If the Dwarves are important for you to see, DEFINITELY make them your first stop of the night (be in line no LATER than 6:15). Grab a turkey leg or Dole Whip to pass the time. Pin trading is another good distraction!

I'm also going with BIL, SIL and 2DNephews and they are ride freaks. My thoughts are with this blog for characters that are different and seeing the shows and parades. Rides will always be there. I kinda want to focus on the specialty events at the party... but again... I'm just going with the flow and hoping something very merry passes my way throughout all the crowds and confusion. :santa:
The ride lines are very small... except Peter Pan - it always gets backed up! :rotfl2: If you spend the party night riding ONLY rides, I personally feel you waste a ticket. We do special events (characters, fireworks, 2nd parade) THEN we ride rides (~11p)! But that is what works for us.

Just have a plan. The more you know about WHAT is going on and when, you'll have a smooth party!

This is EXACTLY what we plan to do. It is our very first party so I have been reading and planning. This is what seems to be the best plan. I just hope I can hang on until 11 PM. I am an "early to bed, early to rise" type of gal. The 11 PM might be too tough for me..... ;)

I am going on my first solo trip in NINE days (you can read my PTR in my signature link) and I am debating on going to the MVMCP on Tuesday 11/29. I am going to AK that day, so I will definitely be up for going to the MK at 4mp, but, I don't know if it is worth it. I will already be planning 1.5 days at MK (my first full day and my departure day and I am on the DxDP so that dinner would be shot bc I would skip dinner that night)

what do you think?!

Okay, I honestly don't have enough time this morning to read and catch up on your PTR but I read your initial post (still reaching for tissues...). But kudos to you for completing this trip. You've earned it through your hard work and it would be a great tribute to your mother - a special place for both of you.

Ask yourself a few questions:
1) Can you make up the DxDP credits at another day/time?
Maybe double up on a signature dining experience or maybe trade some credits in for snacks to take home?
2) What would be your goal for the party?
Seeing rare characters? Seeing a great parade with snow in Florida? Nibbling on hot chocolate and cookies?

If at least 2 of the second set of questions aren't answered positively, I say skip the party.

If all else fails, you can always get a ticket on the spur of the moment once you get there - who knows, you may be overtaken by the magic!

Best wishes and pixies for an amazing trip!
