I just convinced dh that this is a not-to-be-missed event. Based on everything I have read here so far, I believe it to be true as will he (hopefully). Is all of Magic Kingdom open on this night? What kind of special shows are there? Are there usually 2 parades? We will order our tickets in advance so will be get any other info along with the tickets? Right now we are planning on going to WDW Nov. 28 to Dec. 4 and attending MVMCP on Tues the 30th? How soon will I need to order the tickets?

Thanks so much for all of your help,
Laurie

We are interested in the answers to your questions as well. We just got back from our honeymoon from 4-5-04 - 4-10-04. Yes it has only been 2 weeks, but we didn't get enough of the magic. So we are going one more time and I do know this, the tickets for MMVMCP is going on sale in early May. So I hoped I answered 1 question. Now I hope others have answers to the others.

Until someone posts you can do a search here on the DIS boards. Search works real well at finding previous threads. You will enjoy the event!!! We sure did.

We loved MVMCP. In fact, we're looking at the 30th also!! That will be our last night there. If I remember corrrectly, all of MK was open. I don't think any of the attractions were closed down. We loved Mickys Night before Christmas show. It's our favorite. We ordered our tickets last year in early Nov. Had no problem getting them for a mid-Dec show. We'll probably order ours when we do our PSs this coming August. Allearsnet has some terrific info. Have fun planning!

YEa but on between 11-28 and 12-3, are these days really busy or is it value and there will not be that many people there?

I'm hoping that a lot of the people there for THanksgiving will have left on Sunday, the 28th. We were undecided as to which party to go to. But, decided that it would be nice to do it on our last night. My understanding is that the parks get very nice from Monday until the following week-end. Then things start to pick up a little, with MouseFest happening and the PopWarner teams coming in.

We were at WDW last Nov/Dec, starting the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the parks died down considerably after Sunday.

Of those MVMCPs I'd say maybe that Sunday night might more crowded than the rest because of it being Thanksgiving weekend and the first party but the other nights that week will be great.

We went to the Tuesday MVMCP after Thanksgiving and it was just fine.

As far as I remember all of MK was open. It looks that way on the times guide they gave out for the party, too. I went last year on tues., Dec 2 and it was ok. I have to agree with beattyfamily the crowds got better once the weekend was over. So I think you would be better off going on tues instead of sunday.
Yes there are two showings of the parade. The times for last year was 8:15 and 10:45. The first parade was quite busy and we made sure to get a seat early. Our ds was 2 at the time and we didn't think he could make it to the second one (and we were right:D ) One other tip, the party officially starts at 7PM, but they do let you in earlier and send you to tomorrowland. If you get there early enough, they were showing a 6:15 Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas Show. (atleast this is what the did last year) It does get filled up quite fast, but it gets one show out of the way before the party starts.
One advatage of getting tickets early is being able to make early reservations for the Liberty Tree Tavern. It gets booked up very early. I didn't know about it soon enough and we weren't able to get a reservation for any earlier than 7:30 or 8, so we didn't go.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. It was a wonderful event and you will have a great time.

Great info Mommyflower! I have a question- if the first parade was at 8:15, do you remember what time the fireworks were? Our children will be 3 and 5 this trip- and I don't think they will make it to the second parade. Also, did you get in most of the shows before he fell asleep? We'll definitely get there early and hope to see one show early, if they do that again!
This is our first MVMCP and we can't wait!!!princess:

Thanks for all of the great info. One of the things I'm most looking forward to is being in the park when it's dark outside. We've always gone in the off season when the park closes early so we've never done any rides at night. I am going to try BTMR for the first time, just to do it at night!

Also, how awesome is it that it snows! I don't know if I can wait until Nov. 30.

We went to MVMCP twice last Dec 9-12. The first was a fri night and it was quite crowded. I'm glad we went just for the parades and shows. The second day was a Sunday or Mon night and it was much less crowded but we were in MK during the day and the park was less crowded during the day than at the party.

My point is that if you are going to ride the attractions you are much better off going during a weekday in early December (EMH at MK was the smaller crowd I'd ever seen).

Mickey's Twas the night before Christmas was the highlight of my trip. All the best Christmas Carols and dancing. :)

It was really such fun that we are going again this year!!

You'll have a great trip!

Thanks for all the info :teeth:

We're planning on going on Dec 7 (for DD's 4th birthday). We did MNSSHP for the first time last year and loved it - hope MVMCP is as half as enjoyable ::yes::

I think we are going to do this November 30th...........when, where, & how do you get tickets?

I'm planning on going with DD 13 and DS 2 with DH for 3 days-Dec 2, 3 and 4. This will be our first MVMCP and Candlelight Processional.

How can I find out the dates of both, my dates are flexible so I want to make sure I see both of those this trip.

TracyL- I think we are going to try for Dec 7 as well. I think I may wait until we get there to buy tickets though- so we can get a better idea of the weather forcast. Experts, do you think it will be a problem to wait until we get there to buy tickets for a Tues. night? If it happens to be bad weather in the forcast, we will try for Dec. 9. Will I be safe to wait to purchase tickets?
