MVMCP details announced

Ugghhh we leave 11/8 and were hoping to do both MNSSHP and MVMCP. Do the Christmas Tree Trail in DS and the holiday park decorations usually start earlier, or will we likely miss those as well?

Last year the tree trail was up by Nov 5th even though the season did not officially kick off until the 12th. So this year I’m hoping for the trees to be up by Nov 4th!

Holiday park decorations should definitely be up for MK.

I don't think that it's dark enough to do fireworks at 6:00 PM for regular day guests. The MVMCPs had only one fireworks show in the past and it typically ran midway in the evening.
I just checked a weather site. You're right.... the sun sets around 5:30pm in December, but it's not dark enough until around 6:30pm.

We are staying in a deluxe for the date I am hoping to book, so I am hoping we can book on the 30th. I don't think it will sell out, I just want to have it crossed off my list.

Does this mean that there are TWO fireworks every night? Like one at 6:00 and another at 12:00?

We're staying at the Poly for 2 weeks in December. Will we hear fireworks every other night when we're sleeping?

In the “before times” there were no fireworks for the general public on party nights. It was always a big complaint. And one of the reasons MK would be so busy on other nights of the week. They did have the castle lighting show before the parks closed to the public tho.

We really enjoyed the Halloween party when we went. We didn't really have a plan, just went with the flow and enjoyed it. Our kids are older now thoguh, so they may want to do specific things.

We have never been to a Halloween or Christmas party does anyone know or have any ideas what dates are usually the high end prices because I really don’t think I can do the 200 for a family of five but I might be able to get the money for the $150 rate….. 150 per person’s already gonna be a super big splurge for us

Disney Food Blog has a complete list of dates and prices.

We went to Disney Very Merriest After Hours last year and really enjoyed it. I noticed the price range for last years after hours was more than this years prices for MVMCP which surprised me. Does that mean the parties are more crowded than the after hour events? That would be a bummer :(

Yes. They are much more crowded. The cap on ticket sales is so high as to be meaningless.

Reasonable prices!!!! 😂

We went a decade ago and thought the price was WAY too high for what you get. Now….absolutely laughable.

We will be paying almost twice what we did in 2015. I wouldn't call it reasonable but it is worth it for us.

In our experience, the party was often much more crowded than the daytime. It once took me 45 minutes to walk from main street to liberty square (usually a 2 minute walk) during a Christmas party because it was so congested and people were refusing to budge from their “viewing spots” in the middle of the designated walking path for the castle shows/parade/fireworks. I wish I was exaggerating. People that night were so angry, screaming at eachother and CMs. Not a lot of holiday spirit.

I also wish I could say people would stop feeding the beast by paying these outrageous prices for a couple hours. But seems like you can charge anything these days and it will sell out. Guests who went in the old days will go for nostalgia even though it is double the price and more than the cost of an entire full day ticket. Those like you who paid for the after hours last year will go expecting short waits not realizing it is a different event entirely. New guests will go simply due to FOMO.

I cannot encourage people enough if you aren’t comfortable with the price hikes, don’t go! Christmas time is very festive at disney world without the party. Watch the frozen christmas show at HS. Enjoy the storytellers and candlelight processional in Epcot. Go see the giant gingerbread house at GF. Decorations, holiday music, and holiday treats are everywhere.

Boggles my mind that people here lose their mind over a $15 pp G+ price tag but happily pay 10 times that much for high crowds, 3+ hour waits for characters, pre-packaged grocery store cookies, and stage shows/parades it is too crowded to see unless you stake out a spot all evening.
