MVMCP-Dec 2010- Cape Cod & Fall photos-Update 11/16

My blood pressure has been so high that my doctor put me on a THIRD medication

Maybe have your doctor check your vitamin d level. There have been studies that if you are low in vitamin d it can effect you blood pressure. My husband had low vitamin d and was feeling like carp always tired. The doctor prescribe him vitamin d, he's been on it for about a month now and is feeling so much better. He'll be on it for a while because it takes a while for it to build back up in your system. Something to think about.

Oh April, I'm sorry that you had all those things happen to you (well, you and the family). It makes for a really sucky day doesn't it? Let me throw out a hug to ya.....

Thanks for the tip!!! I will definitely ask about that at my next appointment!

Thanks, Lisa!

So I went to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods with my friend on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.

Ooh!! What'd you think? My best friend lives in CT and I've been planning to go visit him at some point in the future. I was thinking of planning a trip to Foxwoods. Did you like staying at the MGM Grand?

We had a TON of fun until…my phone was stolen. I wasn’t freaking out about the cost or anything. I have a Palm Pixi, so I really freaked about the contact phone numbers, my e-mail, and the fact that I was logged in to Facebook. I also had photos on it and a customized “skin” with a photo of Isis. I just felt like it was an invasion of my privacy.

Yeah, I have a Palm Pre and I would freak out if I lost it! It's logged into my e-mail, my Facebook, plus if someone found it and really wanted to mess with me they could go into my calendar and delete all my appointments! I use Google Calendar, so if you add/delete things from my phone, it adds/deletes things from the version I access on my computer! So convenient for me... devastating if someone else got their hands on my phone!

My blood pressure has been so high that my doctor put me on a THIRD medication.

Oh no! I hope the medicine helps! My boyfriend has extremely high blood pressure and his doctor recently had to increase his medication. His doctor thinks it has something to do with his kidneys since it doesn't make sense for someone his age with his lifestyle to have such high blood pressure. So she wants him to see a nephrologist and/or a urologist, but he can't afford to and his insurance doesn't cover seeing specialists. It used to, but recently Blue Cross Blue Shield increased their prices and his company couldn't afford to keep their same insurance plan with the new prices, so they had to drop a bunch of benefits.

Hope everything eases up for you soon. I know how you feel about the blahs. Hang in there. :goodvibes

Thanks! I have to snap out of it.

I love staying at the MGM Grand. The restaurants are great & the casino is very bright. I didn't know your bf lived in CT! How did I miss that??
That really stinks about your bf's healthcare!!!! I have Blue Cross & the rates go up every year. It cancels out my raise every year. :sad2:

Ok, so here goes: I have the dates of my December trip (6th-10th), but I do not know which resort to stay in. I’m down to 2 choices- The Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. I’m trying to decide which will be more fun for John & me. I have stayed at both hotels before (YEARS ago) and I love them both for different reasons. I love WL because of the décor and atmosphere. I love the Poly because it is so nice & quiet. I love the lounge there, too. I also love the fact that it is on the monorail line. I’m leaning a little more towards the Poly because I know how much John will love it. I DO love WL, though, and it is a considerable amount cheaper- BUT I’m planning to book it as a bounceback when I’m there in October. That will mean a 40% discount! Thank goodness I have 3 and a half months to decide!
These are all of the photos I could find of the Poly that I took in 2004:

They aren’t very good photos. I will have to get new ones! Here are some photos of WL in 2001 & 2005:

I knew I could book the first day of dining for my December trip yesterday, so I did. I discovered that I could also book dining for the rest of the trip by entering my reservation number. So far this is what I have planned:

Monday December 6, 2010: Dinner at Artist Point

Tuesday December 7, 2010: Breakfast at Kona Café, Dinner at California Grill

Wednesday December 8, 2010: Dinner at Jiko

Thursday December 9, 2010: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, Dinner at Crystal Palace, MVMCP

Friday December 10, 2010: Breakfast at ‘Ohana

That’s it so far. Southwest is supposed to open up December dates by June 15th, so I will be able to book my flight then.

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. When I was there in Dec. last year, I thought the decorations at the WL were far superior though, if that makes any difference to you. But then again the Poly was piping in lots of relaxing Christmas Hawaiian music all over the place.

Oh, that's a tough one! If I were in your position, I'd be leaning more towards the Poly... mostly because of the monorail. Then I'd tell myself, "Well, if I stay at WL, I'll save x amount of money and I can use that money to buy [insert awesome Disney things here]. And then I'd be totally indecisive! Haha! But both are great choices and you'll be happy with either... and best of all... you'll be in WDW!

Gracious....decisions.....decisions. At least, like you said, you've got some time to decide. I've always said I want to stay at the Polynesian so if I had to vote, I'd give it to the Poly.

Thanks! I totally agree about the decorations at WL, but I AM partial to the Hawaiian Christmas music. :)

That is where my brain is right now, too! I can't decide. :confused3

I *think* John would like the Poly better, so I am leaning a little that way. Hopefully I can book it as a bounceback in October!

Today is Isis’s birthday- she is 11. She has perfected the “I’m bad” look over the years…

Since my phone was stolen, I had to customize a new one:

I don’t know if I mentioned that Orange is my favorite color, but I found a knock-off Chanel in that color in NYC that I finally started to use:

Have I been under a rock? Because I never heard of Pook-a-Looz until this week! I looked them up & 2 were selling for a higher price on Amazon, so I bought them at the Disney store for $10 each when I saw them.

I bought our Christmas Party tickets last week, so this weekend, I finally separated my October & December paperwork:

I also promised my cousin’s daughter that I would get a bathing suit ASAP so she has someone to swim with when we are at my Grandma's house. Well, I was happy to find one on sale for $20 at the Disney Store online. It came in this weekend:

Yesterday it took me 3 hours to get to work. 2 of those hours were spent moving a mere 3.5 miles. I found out later that there was a pedestrian on the highway who was hit & the driver never stopped. They were conducting an investigation & had to close 2 lanes. Last night I went to a graduation party for John’s godson. His family is awesome. I love them. The only problem is that I am trying to diet & they want to keep feeding me! I did great all weekend & I blew it last night. I just felt like I couldn’t say no because I felt like it would be rude. That means extra treadmill time tonight. I will be booking airfare on Friday (I hope) for December, so I will have more “Disney” news then.

Happy Birthday Isis! She definitely got that "I'm bad" look down pat. Oddball celebrated his 2nd birthday on May 24th. We gave him a piece of Hunter's birthday cake. He's a rescued from the pound dog and we didn't know for sure when he was born...only that it was close to Hunter's birthday. So, we decided that they'd share a birthday every year.

I guess I've been under a rock too 'cause I've never heard of the Pook-a-Looz things.

Very cute bathing suit. I am not a big fan of Eeyore but he's really cute on the suit.

If I am remembering correctly, I saw that Southwest Airlines is taking bookings through January 7th. I think that's what it said this morning.

Pound dogs are the best. I didn't know Oddball shared a birthday with Hunter! Happy belated birthday to Oddball! He must have loved getting birthday cake. The photo where Isis is snarling- she is doing that because I was just talking about her toenails. Needless to say, I can't cut them because she won't let me!
I'm so happy that I found a bathing suit for only $20. I kept seeing them for $80 or $40.
I kept trying to check flights on Southwest.com, but I am getting some weird error message. :headache:

Yeah, I got the error message too. But, over to the right hand side of the screen, I saw the January "book through" date.

Boy oh boy am I behind :guilty:. Going back to where I last left you with quick answers--Yes I do remember the Mickey's that were at Disney in 2003, I have all kinds of pictures of them. The Vinylmation remind me of those Mickeys. Congrats to your brother on his graduation  and I'm glad he was OK after the car wreck . I know you felt sick about losing your phone; if I lost mine I wouldn't know anybody's phone number . I'm glad it wasn't anything serious with your car :yay:. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Isis party::bday:. And I vote WL on your December stay. We are going to be at Disney that same week, but I'm not sure where we are staying yet.

So, I think I got it all in?.........:rotfl:. I have been a basket case with so much going on lately, I haven't been a very good Disser :sad1:.

Whew! I'm all caught up!

I hope everytihng turned out ok with your bro and your medication.

and yay! :yay: for December trip. It's funny because I *think* I'm going back for December too. I usually go every December with my timeshare but this will be the second time at Disney in December. When i fall in love, I fall HARD. :rotfl:

My timeshare week is the same as yours!! :santa:

Happy Birthday Isis!!!! The puppy pictures are irresistible!!!

The Boyfriend and I like to look at the Pook-A-Looz whenever we go to the Disney Store at our local mall! They're too freakin cute! Maybe we'll have to start collecting them... They'd be adorable in our new apartment...
