We are returning from a cruise in Miami early on December 23 this year. I really want to add a disney day at the end of our trip. Have they ever had a MVMCP on the 23rd in the past? The latest date I have seen is the 22nd when I Googled it. When do they usually release the dates for the party? If you had to chose between adding 1 normal day at Magic Kingdom or adding 1 MVMCP what would you pick? We have never been to a party before. How insane are the crowds on the 23/24th? Not sure what board to post this on but if anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it! Our cruise leaves on the 16th but I don't think I can add a Disney day prior to the cruise because of work/school schedules. However if I can, would it be any difference in the crowd levels going on the 15th instead? Thanks in advance!

I would not go to a MVMCP on the 22nd if I could go to MK on the 23rd and get the same parade and fireworks during normal park hours. It also sounds like the last MVMCP is usually packed.

2 years back, the 24th was very, very busy. I would choose the 23rd (I'm not sure if either is a low crowd choice since it's Sat vs Sun.

If you are willing to put up with a ton of crowds (i.e. Rope drop and then just your FP+ and shows since standby waits will be mostly crazy..) and instead just enjoy the fact you are in Disney, with your family, at Christmas, it's a magical time!

Yes - crowd levels will be significantly lower earlier in December. You will see an increase beginning a few days before Christmas as school breaks begin. With Christmas falling on a Monday this year I would anticipate that beginning Friday 12/22 - possibly beginning to increase in the day or two leading up to that weekend. The Christmas holiday and the week through New Year's is one of the busiest time of the year. That being said, with planning, many guests enjoy visiting at that time. With you only having that 1-2 day window that includes Christmas Eve, expect that it will be crowded - utilize rope drop/extended hours, and FP+ to get the most out of your time there. As far as MVMCP, I don't recall a recent year where parties were scheduled as late as you're looking to visit. Typically parties have ended by that time of the month and the MVMCP parade is now part of the daily schedule through Christmas week.

Thanks both of yall! That helps a lot. I think if we do go we will just do a regular park day and maybe try to fit it on to the start of the trip if any way possible. I figured crowds would be insane but I'd be happy just being there!

There will probably be a party night BEFORE your trip. If it doesn't line up with your departure date, a day in MK before will be MUCH less crowded before your cruise than it will from the 23rd on.
