Hi! Wondering a couple things about the newly released dates for the MVMCP for Nov. I noticed that the first week, right before we get there. the parties are on Nov 7&8, a Mon and Tue, then Thu&Fri, then the next week, it's got Nov 13(Sun), 15(Tue), then skips Thu, and goes to Fri, Nov 18. This is the week we'll be there. That seems unusual that the Thu has no party that week. Wondering if that's a mistake or actually an open night at MK. Then there are no parties till after Thanksgiving. I sure wouldn't be happy if I was going that first week of parties and every night of the week but Wed, there is a party closing down MK by 7 p.m.!

Also, wondering if the Sun, Nov 13,(the fifth party), would be a pretty light party night, or if Tue, Nov 15,(the sixth party), would really be much better, or about the same. Although the 13th is a Sunday, but it is the Veteran's day weekend, and locals may be partying, lol!

Also, wondering, about purchasing the tickets. I saw that last years parties went on sale in April. I have an AP that will expire on mid May, like the 22nd or so. Anyway, wondering if that AP is still good and tickets are available in April or early May, can I buy using the AP discount(saving $5 each, lol, not much but everything counts with their prices these days!), at the time of purchase? Or does the AP have to be in effect at the time of the party?

TIA! :)

Okay, I'm bumping hoping to grab some dissers who can answer, lol! Thanks to any who take the time!

We're choosing the Nov 15th date. I'm assuming the middle of the week will have a smaller crowd. We went on the first Friday in 2012 and it was packed. I think you are correct about Sunday being over the Veteran's Day weekend. Monday is still a holiday. We're buying tickets as soon as they are released. No idea when though. If I remember correctly we did not get tickets in 2012 until 3-4 months before the event.

Same as rwdavis. We will be doing 11/15. I suspect with no Thurs party, the 11/15 party will get a slight attendance bump. In addition, I am guessing Disney got rid of that Thursday date because it had poor attendance last year and this year's schedule is designed to maximize the attendance of all the parties. Finally, I am very curious if Thursday will turn into an after hours Disney event. A thought process of ... "If only 7,000 people want to go to an event on 11/17, I wonder how many will pay 150 a piece?"

My first thought was they are having a party on Thursday the 10th because Veteran's Day is the 11th so maybe more locals would attend on a Thursday party?

I went last year the Friday of Veterans Day weekend. I don't know if the party was sold out, it was my first one, but it seemed fine to me (most of what we wanted to do we knew would be the longer lines anyway so I don't know if that's a good way to judge). It also happened to be the day of the Xmas parade taping so getting there early (we have an AP too) was VERY CROWDED!! So maybe that made the party seem less so. Still, if you can I'd go with a mid week party as I feel like those have the better chance of being sold out.

Last year not all of the dates were available with the AP discount and for some reason I think mine wasn't (or maybe it was but the day I was originally planning for wasn't, I don't remember exactly). I don't know if the AP has to be valid at the time of the party.

FWIW, if I was a local and I had Friday off, I would be thinking, lets avoid the Friday crowd and go to the party on Thursday night and sleep in on Friday. If I remember correctly you also have Food and Wine going on until Monday so you could get a bump from visitors attending that event as well.

Lost track of my thread, here, lol. Thanks to all who responded. I'm thinking I may go ahead with the 11/15, but still checking things out. Thinking that Tues is an emh evening in Epcot, in October, thinking it may carry to Nov. At least I thought i saw that somewhere, lol, can't find it now. We are definitely night owls, not rope droppers so like the evening emh's. And with Thur up in the air as to will it be an extra late event or what, hard to make plans. I mean we have to make our plans but they could change everything after we've paid for a party.

Hmm, well it seems odd to me to not have it because the one night had lower crowds. Hard to predict if less people will come that night because other people didn't come the year before. As far as I remember all the rest of the weeks for parties had the Su,Tu,Th,Fr parties. But who knows, you may be right. I wish they'd put out the hours already, lol, though I know it's not quite time.

Yeah, I'm wondering how that F&W will change things up. Maybe if everyone is at the Sunday night of F&W, less people would go to the Sunday Xmas party? Idk, lol. We are coming Sat after Vet's day, so we will pick either the Sunday or the Tue, definitely not the Friday, that should be pretty busy!
