MVMCP and Seven Dwarfs Q

We are taking our DS4 to WDW for his first trip in a couple weeks and he really really wants to meet the Seven Dwarfs at the party. We have a 7DMT FP at 5:15-6:15 so I was thinking we would ride that and then get in line soon thereafter for the M&G. My question is since I haven't been to WDW in over 20 years I cant remember the layout at all. Will there be any chance to see the castle lighting show from the line? I'm guessing no.

If not can my husband hold our place in line while we go to the castle lighting show? I wasn't sure on protocol. Thanks in advance!

You'll be in line behind the Castle so you'll miss the show. Your husband can save your places in line for you and your son.
