So we've never been but are VERY excited to go! We have 2 MVMCP nights planned 11/13 and 11/16

DD3 is thrilled to see some characters who are rarely available (she got very into the autographs when we were there in February). I've read Kenny the Pirate's awesome plan of "attack" BUT as everyone knows ADRs during that time have been hard to come by if you started booking after 180 days (sigh, okay, I'll never make that mistake again!).

We're there from the 11th to the 18th and on the deluxe plan because we want to do as many character meals as possible (DD is all about the princesses and the hundred acre wood gang). As "luck" would have it on the 13th we were able to score an Akershus at 4:55!

so what would you do? Is it going to be a mess to monorail over, have fun, and then zip back?

Anyone have a good "plan of attack" that they use during the Christmas party regarding dining and still seeing as much as you can? I'd hate to tie ourselves up to a long meal when there's so much fun to be had, but kiddo has to eat (DH too or he gets surly lol).

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't want to deal with it personally but with you planning to attend two nights of the party at least you don't have to worry about missing out.

We booked Liberty Tree Tavern at 5pm. I'll eat quickly and leave, and hope to be in line for the Seven Dwarves by 5:45 or 6. I personally think it would be a pain to come over from Epcot, but that's just me. Is there another night you can do Norway?

I wish! It's our only night Akershus but I'm going to keep stalking ADRs and hoping.

I think you have a great time for Akershus. It is early enough where you won't get done so late, even if you aren't seated at exactly 4:55. Party starts at 7pm and you have another party to attend so just incase you feel like you've missed anything, you make up for it on the 16th. I really see this as doable IMO. Take the monorail over to TTC and hop on the MK monorail. It does seem like a hassle to have an ADR in a completely different park on the party day but that restaurant is hard to get into so sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! And you may even have luck if you keep checking for a better day for it where you won't have to worry!

We will be there the same week and we have tickets for the 16th also! :thumbsup2

We're going to try I think (unless my stalking pays off with a different time!).

Glad to see another 16th-er! We're so excited to go! It's not even July lolol

As long as you're okay with missing some of the party, go for it!

Assuming you are seated right away, character meals typically take an hour to an hour and a half, especially since your daughter wants to see all the princesses.

So, you will be probably be in the park no later than 7:30 (I would imagine).

Just the other night of the party, be sure to get in line early for the dwarves, if you want to see them. As you read, people start lining up around 5:30 or something like that for them

I hope so. Akershus was the one place where us being early for ADRs did not pay off (but Anna and Elsa were right there with an 8 hour wait so I imagine when they told people the wait was over 2 hours to dine, they were like fine, we're here anyways!). But still, we might try.

My kiddo has mild SPD which can be triggered by crowds, but we'll have been there a few days and she adjusted last time pretty fast to the point where she was singing all the Disney songs she knows at the top of her lungs from pure joy in the stroller (lol). That was my only concern about walking in after it started (& maybe we can get our wristbands for the party before we leave to expedite getting back in?).

The dwarves I'm most concerned about seeing! That's totally me lol Because lately she's a little freaked out specifically by older men with beards. Not really sure why :confused3 and boy seeing Santa will be "fun" if this keeps up! (Not that we've ever had a good non-crying and screaming Santa pic. She's THAT kid! lol)

OTOH she says she really wants the Dwarves to sign her book and to give Grumpy a hug so he's not so grumpy, she knows they won't talk (SPD is mostly about sounds for her), and she knows they're people in costumes, but I'd hate to cancel dinner, wait in line, and then have her say she doesn't want to see them because they have beards lol. I know she LOVES the entire Akershus experience too.
