Werr planning last minute to attend the christmas party. We have a adr booked at hoolywood studios that day at 425pm. If we keep the adr and then hop over to magic kingdom, how much will we miss of the party?

I agree with the above poster. You can get into MK around 4 with your tickets for the party. You really want to be in the park as early as possible.

Really depends if you were already planning on spending at park day at DHS. In my opinion (and I'm sure it won't be popular), if you'll already using a day at HS then I don't see a problem with staying at HS for dinner. With H&V (and try to show up a bit early), I see it very possible to be in MK before 7pm when all the real party festivities begin. From 4-7, in my opinion, isn't what I'm paying for when I buy a MVMCP ticket, I'm paying for the exclusive parades, fireworks, and character greetings. Mind you, if you arrive late, I'd advise staying through the end of the party (midnight) to get the most bang for your buck.

I would guess that with a 4:25 ADR in HS, you probably won't make it into the MK much before 7:00. As it gets close to 7, I think there will be a bottleneck at the gates and the bagcheck. Once you are in the park, At that point, the party will be in full swing, and lines for character meet and greets will be long, and people will begin lining up for the parade, if it is at 8 (I don't know that its then for sure).

I would recommend changing your plans in a way have your arrival at MK sometime closer to 4-5PM. You usually can get into the MK with your park ticket at 4, and if you plan an ADR in the MK or a quick service meal somewhere close to 4-5, you can maximize the party time.

Perhaps, you've had different experiences but I don't see getting to MK as problematic. Considering H&V is buffet with no characters (so one of the quicker meals), let's say the OP is out of there by 5:30 and catches a bus around 6/6:15, I don't see an issue with being at MK by 7. OP, just make sure to arrive at your ADR around 4:10/4:15.

How do you know the ADR is at H&V?

Perhaps my eyes are playing tricks on me. Could've sworn I read that. Anyways, even if they end their meal a 6, they could still easily get to MK in an hour (I've done it many times). Mind you, if they show up early (at say 4:10), unless the restaurant is really backed up, they should be out of there by 5:30/5:45. All I'm saying is that if they really want to do HS dinner, they still can without missing most of the party.

I was glad to read this. We are attending our first MVMCP this year and have a 5:00 PM reservation at WL which won't put us in the MK until around 7:00 PM. We weren't really using the MVMCP tickets as our "MK" day, rather just going for the festivities. We do plan to stay late like you suggested.

By not getting to MK as close to 4pm as you can, you're essentially forfeiting your fp's that come with the ticket. I wouldn't use up party time with an ADR.

Actually we will be at hollywood & vine for the minnies holdiay dinner. I was really looking forward to it but sounds like i may have to change plans on dinner or choose another date for the party

I definitely would try that on another day. That isn't something I would want to rush through.

Personally, I don't make rides a priority when I go to the party. I've done Chef Mickey's at 5:00 on party nights and never felt that I've "used up" party time by doing so.

Ok here's the deal. Normally I would have said to definitely drop the HS ADR and get to MK by 4. Even though the party doesn't start until 7:00, people line up for the special party M&G's by 5:00 in some cases (and sometimes even earlier) so if you planned on doing some of those, you'd want to be there early. Plus you can make FP's for 4-7 but not after 7, and just plain be where you want to be when the party officially starts. BUT, the Minnie's dinner is kinda special :) So my first suggestion is try to get it for another night which of course might be very difficult. If you can't, keep the dinner reservation IF:
1. you aren't planning on doing any popular party-specific M&G's or if you are, don't mind spending a good amount of party time on line;
2. you don't mind not using any FP's there (ride lines do tend to go down during parties, especially the later it gets;
3. you're ok with the small possibility of not being in MK right at 7. I can't see this happening unless you're seated late for your ADR, the characters take forever to come around or your wait after dinner for a MK bus is pretty long or a combination of those 3. You just never know how timing will go with ADR's and transportation there!

I was simply pointing out, since it hadn't yet been mentioned and in case the OP hadn't considered the impact keeping his/her ADR at HS would have on his/her party ticket fp's.

I was also trying to advise that an ADR during the party event might not be the best use of their time, especially so if they have young children who can't make it to the later hours. I was giving them something to consider if they hadn't already. Of course, I don't know the make up of their party and if my suggestions were relevant to their situation but I'm still happy to have mentioned it.
