MVMCP a tip or two

yep, the novice here is going to the FIRST mvmcp this year!:rotfl: so i am lurking around, trying to figure out what i need to do to plan for dh and i. as it is, i am planning to make a festive hairpiece for dd's and i to wear ala niecie nash. hopefully dh will want to be associated with us:lmao: great ideas here. looking forward to seeing people there!

I'm reading this and I'm getting so excited! My parents, sister and neice are in Disney this week and I've been sooooo jealous all week. Especially because I didn't know if we were going to get to go in December. But my husband says its up to me and I say we're going! :yay:

Anyway, we have tickets for the party on Dec 7. We will actually be leaving Saturday night hopefully by 6pm and driving as far as we can taking turns. Hopefully all the way. If our room isn't ready when we get there then we'll head off property and stay somewhere cheap for a few hours to get some rest. I have a 5:10 ADR at WCC but I'm thinking of canceling that. I want to try it so bad, but I'd rather maximize our time at MVMCP that night.

I'd like to go ahead and get to the park around 4 or 5. DD will be tall enough for Space Mountain this year and I want to take her there first and she will have to ride BTMRR soon after, it was her favorite last year. And even after we waited in line for almost an hour in the heat and humidity she was more than willing to stand in line again. (Not us though!)

And then of course she's going to want to see the characters dressed up. I think we may wait and see Santa in Epcot though. I also want to do the Twas the Night show, Parade and Fireworks.

So much to think about.......

:santa: We'll be there on Nov 10th!!!!!!!:santa:
It's our first MVMCP and we are very excited!!!! Does anyone know if it's going to be crowded that day?

I'm curious about the music they play during the MVMCP parade and fireworks.

Are these "special" Disney songs (like the Boo To You parade and HalloWishes music from MNSSHP), or are they just compilations of "regular" Christmas songs?

Also, if they are special songs, is there a MVMCP music CD that can be purchased during the party?

Thanks in advance! :)

Can anyone tell me what characters its easy to get pictures with at the MVMCP? I'd love some character photos but i'm not keen on waiting in line for too long.

This is a great thread. I just read it all and really like all the tips. A little freaked out now about really planning party night and making sure we see everything that we can.

We will be at our first MVMCP on Dec. 9th. Can't wait!!:santa:

Hey guys.. I have a question for you! We're going to the Dec 16th party, and I was wondering about the parade. We'll more than likely be staying for the second one, so where should we get a spot for the best viewing? I had read somewhere that Frontierland (I think?) was a good place, but that some of the CMs couldn't get into formation there. Where should we head? And how early should we stake out our spot? TIA!

What time would you catch the bus from Port Orleans French Quarters to make sure that you are at the gate at 4pm when they let you in? I was thinking about 2:45. What do you think.

I don't know the answers to your questions. I just wanted to mention that if you want to watch the parade in the "snow" you'll need to be on mainstreet.

I would probably say about 3. That would allow you to just miss the bus and then get the next one with some time to spare.

We are having a hard time choosing a date. We can go on Nov. 10th or 11th. The 10th (Monday) is the first party and the night before a holiday (people may go the night before Veteran's Day since they don't have to go to work the next morning). The 11th (Tuesday) is ON a holiday. Which one do you think would be least crowded? We can also go on the 16th which is a Sunday night. I just don't know which of these would be best  :confused3  Any advise would be very appreciated!!

How likely are these parties to sell out in early November? I'm not sure if I should purchase tickets now or wait until we are there to make sure the weather will cooperate since the tickets are nonrefundable.

I have been getting soooo much info from this thread!!!! I think I have to replan my already planned day based on all this info.

Does anyone know what timew the other shows are for Twas the Night Before Christmas show beside 7p.

We have 5:25 dinner ressies at Crystal Palace on 11/30 but am wondering if I should try and change to an earlier time there or elsewhee or just do counter service that night since I don't want to miss the castle lighting at 5:45. But am ust curious about the times for the other shows for Twas..so I can figure this all out

Thanks :santa: :dance3:

This year's info hasn't come out yet but here's last year's schedule for Twas the Night Before Christmas:

7:00p, 8:00p, 9:00p, 10:15p and 11:15p.

We are arriving on 12/11 and I was thinking of doing MVMCP that night. But, I'm wondering if I should wait until 12/12 since 12/11 is our travel day. The 12th is a Friday - is it typically busier then? Do you think it might be okay to wait and just buy tickets once we get there? HELP!!
