MVMCP 2011 Thread

We went to a MVMCP on Dec. 5th, 2009 and we were MISERABLE!!!! Raining and cold, we were shivering the entire time! The castle light show kept being delayed, the parade was cancelled, very few characters because of the weather... Yuck!

So here's to hoping for a nice party for my mini-dude, DH and me on Dec.13th!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for character schedule...yay!

I am a virgin to the parties. What characters are exclusive to parties...I've gathered..

Dwarves
The princesses with their prince

Which lines for characters can I anticipate to be scary long...and any that may be easy peasy?

I know main street will be busy...what other lands will be busy? I have grandparents and small children...trying to map out a fun evening knowing we will take frequent breaks and walk at snail's pace. Ha!

Thanks Mom2rtk (and WDW character hunt)! I figured Lilo and Stitch were getting the boot this year with the fairies taking over in that area. I guess this confirms it. I'm glad we got a good picture with them last year. DD is definitely going to miss that cardboard sand snowman though- I bet he won't show up anywhere else. She has taken her picture with that cut-out the last 3 years.

I hope we run across Terrance. We have never gotten to see him before. Now, if I can just convince DD that she really wants to meet Captain Jack. ;)

Mickeyplanner, I'm pretty sure Big Al and the other one are Country Bears. We got a picture with one of them last year. Poor thing was just roaming around looking for someone who wanted to take a picture with him, when we saw him.

I really, really wish that we could see Scrooge McDuck. That was my dream last year.

Oh, Flynn, :lovestruc:lovestruc!!!!

My new crush is Gaston though after seeing the Broadway musical a couple of times. Wish he was still out.

Where exactly is the Skyway?

Can't wait for the party reports to start rolling in. I don't think December will ever get here! I'm ready for Christmas at Disney:love:

It's where the Dwarfs were last year. Go all the way down past Peter Pan and IASW where they have or had stroller parking.

I too would LOVE to meet Scrooge and Gaston. Heck, I'd even be OK with meeting them together!

Captain Jack, Bullseye and Wendy are other party exclusive characters. The two Country Bears do not appear regularly, so they could be considered semi-exclusive, although they tend to show up at Epcot a couple times a month. Terrence is also pretty rare during the day (although he shows up randomly), typically it's Vidia and Rosetta with Tink.

Long lines: Dwarfs, Princess Line at TST, Belle/Beast at Fairytale, and Captain Jack Sparrow.

Short lines: Duffy, Peter Pan/Wendy

I'm not sure what the crowd will be like for Phineas and Ferb... their lines are long at DHS so they may be long at MVMCP as well?

On the character listing who is Big Al and the other character roaming with him in Frontierland?

As PP mentioned, they are two of the four Country Bears. Looks like two were cut this year.

We're not going this year. :sad1: So I'm having to live vicariously through everyone else. Here's my contribution to you guys, copied from allears.net. Hope it helps people out there. Anything wrong, let me know and I'll revise.

Do the special party-exclusive characters come out around 4 PM, or do they come out at 7 PM? Sorry, but this is my first MVMCP. I want to be prepared. I am trying to determine when we need to start heading to character lines.
I know we want to see the special Wishes and probably the parade. Other than that, DDs need to decide if they want to concentrate on riding or characters. I have two teen girls so it will probably be riding, but I want a few pictures with characters!

The characters start appearing at 7.

If you want the dwarfs, get in line at 6 (it's better to wait in line pre-party versus during the party).

If you want the princesses/princes at TST, go through the regular Guest line at 6:45 (depending on how long it looks), as they will trade them out at 7. If the line is longer than 15, you can get in earlier... if the line is shorter, get in later.

So are you saying there's no hope for them fixing the princess line problem?

We'll be in the MK on a party day that we're not attending, as well as our 2 party days we are attending. Should I just get in the line at 6:45 to see R/F on our non-party day and mark it off our list that way?

I recall when we got in line for the princesses last year on a party night, they closed that line to regular day guests early enough that it would clear through by party start time.

Yes. We want the dwarfs, Jack Sparrow, Phineas and Ferb, and Rapunzel and Flynn. I think that will be all that we try to find. Any particular order we should follow? Will there be separate lines for the different princesses/princes sets? I think my DDs will only be interested in Rapunzel so I would not want to wait through one long line for all of them at once.

One line to see R/F, Aurora/Philip and Snow/Prince.

That line was MESS during MNSSHP from the reports I saw here on the DIS. Day guests were getting in line up until 7 so were getting to see the party characters ahead of party goers who paid for tickets. The worst report I saw said they got in line at 6:30 and didn't get out until 8:30. I still don't have a plan for how we want to tackle this. I'll be anxious to hear reports on how this is going.

I'm so excited that tonight is the first party and I can't wait to hear al about it. Who is going to be our reporter for this evening????? Also, had do they distinguish party goers from non-party goers? Do we get wrist bands?

You'll get a wristband. I'd love to hear reports back here on how often CM's checked for wristbands. Clearing the non-party guests out is key to making it a good evening.

Oh no! Do they switch them out? Does that mean there is a chance that we could wait in a long line, for a long time, to see Rapunzel/Flynn and then get up there to find Snow White/Prince??????? I do not want to waste time like that! We are only interested in Rapunzel. :confused3
