MVMCP 2011 Thread

This morning we're purchasing our tickets to the party on Dec. 7th!

Our trip started out as a Universal only trip, but thanks to a DVC referral bonus, we decided to fit in a MVMCP!:santa:

Just got our tickets in the mail for MVMCP on November 29th!! I'm so excited! We've never been during Christmas, but we have done the Halloween Parties and we LOVE THEM!!! I can't wait...only 19 more days til we're at the World and 21 days until the PARTY!!

Oh no! Do they switch them out? Does that mean there is a chance that we could wait in a long line, for a long time, to see Rapunzel/Flynn and then get up there to find Snow White/Prince??????? I do not want to waste time like that! We are only interested in Rapunzel. :confused3

There are 3 spots for meetings in the room, so all 3 should be there when you are let in. That IS an improvement from last year when they swapped Belle/Beast in and out with Snow/Prince. Since Belle/Beast are in Fairytale Garden and Cindy/Prince are in the old Skyway location, there shouldn't be any swapping necessary.

But the other line issues really make this still a difficult "get". I actually emailed Disney asking about the day guests in line after 7 ahead of the party folks. I just got my reply. It's quite clear someone saw the word "party" and sent me my very own generic automated response about hard ticketed parties. Whew! So glad I now know that tickets are non-transferable and that I can get my wristband after 4. :confused3

I'm SO glad I took the time to write.

We will be going on 11/13. This is our first time, and it wil be my DD 6th birthday. Anything we should not miss?

Thank you for this information. So I understand that if I wait in the long line then I should be able to get to Rapunzel.
I do hope that the day guests will be monitored more closely for this party. I look forward to reading reports from tonight's party!

What would the experience party goers recommend...getting in line for the princesses/princes or the dwarves early? This is our first party next week, 11/15

If they are letting day guests in the princess line up until 7 PM, I wouldn't do that first. I'm guessing that problem is going to get worse too when people start figuring out they can see special party characters without purchasing a party ticket.

So do the dwarves and do the princess line during the parade or fireworks. If you want to see the parade and fireworks, do it during the parade you're not seeing.

Do be aware that while they seem hesitant to tell day guests the Princess line cuts off before official park closing time......... they seem to have no problem telling people who paid for party tickets that the line is closed well in advance of midnight. So don't wait too late.

There are sooo many characters we want to see :rotfl: The bolded ones are on the "must see" list - not sure how to go about this. Will Belle be in her Enchanted gown, ya think? My DD will be wearing hers, so that's why Belle is a must - LOL!

Belle and the Beast – Fantasyland - Fairytale Gardens
Tiana and Naveen – Enchanted Glade in Liberty Square
Seven Dwarfs – Splash Mountain exit area
Captain Jack Sparrow – Adventureland
Prince Ali, Abu, Jasmine and Genie – Adventureland
Cinderella, Prince Charming, Step Sisters and Lady Tremaine – Fantasyland Skyway Station
Snow White, Aurora, Prince Philip, Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder – Town Square Theater

Yes, Belle will be in her red gown. :goodvibes And Beast will be in his Sunday best! :thumbsup2

Tiana and Naveen are out during the day, so I'd try to do that during the regular park hours if you can.

The Tremaine family is out during regular park hours too. Cindy won't have her prince during the day, so that will have to be after 7.

Ooh - I didn't know that Naveen was still out during the day. Okay, we can cross them off the list for the party (we'll be at MK during the day, as well!)

I'm sure we'll see Aladdin and Jasmine during the day, but I MUST get a pic with Abu and Genie!!! And yep, Cinderella and gang are low on the list because I'm hoping to see them during the day (except for Prince Charming...which my DH said "oh you get to see Prince Charming everyday"...meaning *him* :rotfl:)

And der, I just noticed your avatar with your daughter and Belle in their enchanted gowns. Man, you do amazing work with those princess dresses!!!

LOL! I forgot I had them in my avatar! Thanks for the kind words. :goodvibes

I don't think Naveen is out for every set, but last I heard he was out part of the day. So do ask while you're there in the morning when he'll be there.

And Aladdin and Jasmine are out during the day, but he's not dressed as Prince Ali. So if you get there and it's their turn, you still might want to catch them.

That just stinks if they let non-party guest stay in the line during the party. Why aren't they checking bracelets!?!?! If I see that happen I will be writing Disney when I get home.

Thanks our plan is to see the Castle lighting ceremony at 6:15 then head over to get in line for the Dwarves, do the dance party with Toy Story gang, maybe watch the first parade and then try to tackle the princes and princesses. Does anyone know if talking Mickey will be making an apperance like he did on Halloween? If so then that will be a must see too. Also when does it snow on Main Street?

Abu and Genie alternate, so plan on going through that line twice.

Naveen comes out daily following the parade, so it's better to try to catch them in the afternoon if you want both.

They are checking bracelets. The problem is that they are treating that line like the ride lines, where they let people get in line until 7 PM THEN clear through. They didn't do it that way in the past though. They cut the line in advance of posted park closing when they thought they had all they could get all the way through the line by 7. This is completely different from a ride. A ride is the same regardless of whether your ride during the day or during th party. Once the characters change over at 7, day guests already in line not only get to meet party specific characters without paying, they get to do so while making the paying party-goers wait (unless they want to take a chance on entering the line before 7 and maybe seeing party characters, maybe not.)

OOOOHHHHH, talking Mickey?!?!??! Tell me more about that, please. Is there a Mickey character for pictures that talks?
I was wondering about the snow, too. When is that? Does it snow during the parade? Wishes?

I have a question.. The castle lighting ceremony does that happen everyday or just for the MVMCP? I just reckon it'd save alot of time if we didn't have to do that at the party and we could get to dwarf line sooner!

Every day, about 6:15p--so the party doesn't matter with respect to the castle lighting. You may want to get in line for the dwarves before 6:15 though. The castle remains lit all night, so the question becomes how important is the lighting ceremony (not the lights themselves) compared to the dwarves.

Yeah that's what I did for MNSSHP with dwarves.. We have another day or two where we can see castle lighting so I'll do it on the non party days!

we are attending 12/16, and we are so excited. It's part of my dd's birthday trip
