mvmcp 2006 tips only

We'll be at the MVMCP on Nov 30!! Can't wait!!! Our plan is to see more of the shows, then ride the rides! But, we'll see when we get there.... I'm really looking forward to the show "Twas The Night Before Christmas"!! I LOVE that one!

And for all the parties we've been to, its been rather cold! Not blizzard cold, but definitely where we had at least a tshirt and a sweatshirt (and GLOVES!)!!! And even though we were COLD, we'd walk by the pool and there would be kids swimming and having a great time!! And, I always think - the water may be warm, but eventually, you have to get out and walk (run) to your room!! That must be cold!!!!!

Have a great time everybody!!! I'll be wearing my Mickey Santa hat!!!

there are so many people from Dis who are going on the 19th--you'll all be there to celebrate my birthday with me! :woohoo: :cake:

Questions:
When does it snow? and When and where are they passing out the cookies and cocoa? I dont' want to miss that for anything.

I'm sorry if this is a repeat--I looked through the thread and didn't see it.

Thanks!

I am asking for a tip here instead of providing one--I do apologize, but I figured the party pros would know the answer. Do you think it would be odd for my kids to wear their outfits to MVMCP? My DS would be either Captain Jack Sparrow and my DD Elizabeth Swan, or else he would be Prince Philip and she would be Sleeping Beauty. Has anyone done this previous years or seen anyone who has? TIA!!

It snows the entire time on Main Street. It snowed from the time we got there until we walked out at midnight. Also, (I'm not sure if this changes from year to year) we got cookies/cocoa at around the Tomorrowland Noodle Station area (when walking towards Tomorrowland over the bridge from the castle it's to the immediate right) and in the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon in Frontierland. They were being handed out all night as we got some when we first walked in and then a second cookie a few hours later. I believe there is one other place that serves cookies/cocoa but I'm not sure. Both times we've been they just set out a bunch of cups of cocoa and cookies on napkins for you to grab yourself. Hope that helps and have a great time!! What a great way to spend a birthday!! :dance3:

in giving tips - please do not give anything way to us who have not ever been - the snow thing a few threads back.

I think that it would be fine. Everyone is going to be dressed differently. Some children may wear their costumes while a number of them will have Christmas shirts. Some families wore matching shirts. Many people wore their Christmas hats. Last year my DDs & I wore matching Disney shirts that we bought at the Disney store. At the party I bought us matching sweatshirts to wear over our t-shirts as it got colder as the night went on. This year we will be celebrating a Grand Gathering for Christmas so I hope to make our group matching shirts to wear.

rainy-daze: I am sure wearing costumes would be fine....but I think it would look much nicer (for pictures) and give you all a more festive feel to all wear holiday garb. A lot of families wear matching Micky Santa hats and sweatshirts from the park and it looks awesome. I do not think costumes will be a problem, but may be a bit chilly at night for the kiddies! Plus, wearing holiday attire always puts me in a festive mood!!Have a fun time!!

Thanks for all the wonderful tips. This will be our first MVMCP as well as our first couples only trip. I will read this thread again just before we leave to make sure I don't forget any of the wonderful hints. Thanks again!

Thanks neverlandclub23! I was wondering if I'd miss the snow-- Now I can relax and worry about 7 billion other things

Last year, you could also get cocoa & cookies inside Cosmic Rays. CR doesn't serve their entire menu during the party, so they had the cocoa & cookies in the extra window.

The snickerdoodle cookies were the best!!!

Where are you from I'm from South MS too! But we'll be there for the Nov. 17th

We got ours at Columbia Harbor House. They were only handing out cups/cookies there, no regular CS meals.

I would definitely have some long pants on and have a jacket handy! The only clue I have is that I live in Florida.;)

We will be there November 28 with our LGMHs so be on the look out for us! This is the first MVMCP that we have ever been to. I am so excited! They have combine my favorite holiday with my favorite place. I may pass out!!!!

How long are the individuals shows, like the "Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' or Belle's Enchated Christmas? We'd like to try to plan out as much as we can, and also have some back-up plans in case certain areas are more crowded. Our family definitely will be doing the Christmas events and not necessarily the rides that night.

Does anyone have a link to a park map from a previous year?

I'm thinking the Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas is about 20 minutes long, sometimes it's not so much the show time, but the added wait time to ensure seating!
