Hi ladies (and gents)! I'm going over my planning kit right now and really just want to try EVERYTHING on the menu because it all sounds so amazing. So to help me decide what we should try for our upcoming menu tasting, I wanted to get the opinions of those who have already had their planning session or Disney wedding! What were your must-haves for your event? What was your favorite dish? Your guests favorite dish? As far as I know, none of our guests have any allergies or dietary restrictions, so everything is on the table. We're having a lunch buffet.

Bring on the food pics too!

Ohhh yeah that drunken cherry angus does sound delicious. It has such an upcharge but maybe we'll try it anyways!

These were our three appetizers during our cocktail hour.

›Compressed Truffle Macaroni and Cheese
Petite Lobster Clubs on Brioche Toast
Warm Brie and Carmelized Onion Tart

For our entree, I really liked these.
Pan Seared Mahi Mahi with Lemoncello Butter Sauce
Three Peppercorn & Whole Grain Mustard Rubbed Beef Strip Loin

If I understand the way it works, the menu is priced as a whole, not item by item. So you may find it reasonable to do the angus filet depending on what else you have on your menu. We had the angus filet, a mac and cheese bar, and a mashed potato bar (all expensive when priced separately), among other things, plus we had a package bar, and we were still only $5/person over our food and beverage minimums.

That's awesome! It will definitely go on the list of things to try then! The only thing we're pretty dead-set on having at our reception (if they can even do it) is the sweet and sour chicken and waffle sandwich from Sleepy Hollow, although we'll probably just have them special make the chicken for us as an entrée, and then add a Mickey waffle bar so that our guests can either make their own chicken and waffles or they can have traditional waffles too!

Our favorites were the mac and cheese bar, the mashed potato bar (we combined those two into one bar), and the drunken cherry angus filet!

Alright, we sat down and created our list last night and the filet with drunken cherries, mac and cheese bar, and mashed potato bar are all on our list! We're also going to try the mahi mahi, sleepy hollow chicken to see if they can execute it right, watermelon salad (such a boring choice but DF really wants to try it), Yukon gold, bacon and gruyere tart, and banana chocolate bread pudding. Now we just have to wait until June to try all this. HAHA.

I see you've already made your list, but if you decide you need a pasta option the Pasta with Wild Mushrooms, Roasted Tomatoes Confit, Spinach, and Asiago Cream Sauce was hands down the best thing we had at our tasting. We ended up serving it at the welcome party because we had too many carbs/starches at the reception (between the mashed potato/mac and cheese bar and Mickey Waffles!). Beautiful melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness!

That pasta does sound AMAZING, but wasn't listed on the list of sample menus I was given...in fact, I don't think I had any pastas or cocktail hour stuff given to me (most likely because we're doing Mini Wishes and I don't know if we're getting a cocktail hour). Maybe I can convince DF to take his stupid salad off the menu so we can try this instead. lol. We're also very carb-heavy though so I don't know that a pasta will be an option. We're also planning to have our rehearsal dinner at Buca di Beppo the night before so guests may not want pasta twice. Oh and we're planning to do the Mickey waffles too :)
