Must see/do when you go to Disneyland

For me, and this is entirely personal, mind you, my must-do's are as follows:

Attractions: The Disneyland Railroad grand circle tour, both at day and night, or whenever want to relax, The Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise at night, Pirates, Haunted Mansion however many times I can ride it, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder and the Matterhorn at night, Alice in Wonderland and Snow White dark rides, Space Mountain, and taking a trip around the river on the Mark Twain or the Columbia.

As for more general things: just relaxing with a cold drink and a jalapeno cheese pretzel at coke corner, or a beverage and dessert on the lower level of the Hungry Bear in Critter Country. I like to wander and take photos, look at the small details, etc, as well...explore the park and look for things I've never seen before.

I love Tower of Terror over in DCA and never get tired of it, but your mileage may vary on that one ;) My go-to attractions in DL I can ride or experience over and over are the train, Tiki Room, Haunted Mansion and Pirates.

Hope this is at least partially helpful or gives you ideas!

We always watch the fireworks.

For attractions at DL, we always do the Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear, Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Small World, and Mr. Toad.

For DCA, the only ride we always do is Muppets. Usually we'll ride TSM, if the line isn't too long.

Must do:
Ride it's a small world, Peter pan and dumbo. I can't ride the "fun and exciting" due to health conditions.

Must eat:
Corn dog, Mickey pretzel with cheese, lobster nachos, chimichanga, pickle, pineapple spear, dole whip, turkey leg, Clam chowder bowl, free tortillas from the factory, churro, fish and chips, mozzarella sticks

Must see:
Fireworks, fantastic, world of color, flag retreat, the bad in front of the castle around 11am, aladdin

Thanks for reminding me I miss Disneyland!!

We have a few rides that are "must do".. Pirates, Indiana Jones and Space Mtn. Nothing specific otherwise, altho we usually try to eat at Rancho del Zocalo because we like the atmosphere in the courtyard.

The atmosphere in the eating area is very good, yes, with the ambient noise from Big Thunder and the funky lamps at night..nice place to sit and relax. Wish I could say the same about the food I have had there....;)

You've gotten some good advice. I'm going to add that you must eat Mickey Mouse Pancakes for breakfast at The Riverbelle Terrace.

What ages are your group and how long do you have? Or are you just wondering what other peoples favorite things are?

The only child is my DS5...My mom, dad, and sister will also me going.

We'll be there for at least 3 days...maybe 4...I haven't been to Disney in years so I just want to make sure we do as much as possible (without over doing it of course)...

Farley the Fiddler, on the parch of the Davy Crockett Frontier Mercantile at the entrance to Frontierland. 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30.

And yes he will be back starting Monday, August 30.

2 things my daughter & I found on our last day in DL that I wish we had found sooner.
Cafe Orleans sell mickey shaped "beignets"..(.pronounced ben-yay)...they are like a warm donut served with cream and jam- they are awesome- such a good afternoon tea.
Also in the candy store in Main Street they have a marshmallow thingy coated in caramel, then dipped in chocolate and it comes on a stick- you HAVE to have one of those. We were flying back to Australia on the day we found these, if they sold them in sealed packets we would have bought lots!!!

since you have DS5 use a parent swap for the few rides he may not be tall enough to ride. Screemin and Indy come to mind, as needing extra hieght.

Must do for me -

In Disneyland - Railroad loop, Small World, Tiki Room, Haunted Mansion, Mark Twain, Carousel

In DCA - Soarin', Toy Story Mania

Must see in BOTH parks - any parade in day or early evening. Can't stay up late, but if I were able, I would go to Fireworks if available.

Eats - Mickey icecream bar, gingerbread Mickey ear cookie (in season), turkey leg, baked potato, meal at Thunder Mt. Barbeque

I also approve of everything else! LOL - I don't do thrill rides but enjoy going through the queues - then I bail out - :scared1:

Must do rides in DL: Pirates, Tiki Room, Buzz Lightyears Astroblasters, and Splash.
Must do rides in CA: GRR and Toy Story Mania
Must eats: Mickey's Pretzel, and Tigger Tail.
