Getting ready for our first trip with DD5 and DD2 in less than 2 months and I'm starting to do the shopping for things we'll need when we're there. Do you have any special things you bring for your kids either for on the plane, in the hotel, or at the parks? I've raided the local dollar store and picked up glow necklaces, Disney coloring books and stickers, small plastic Disney figurines to play with, special drink cups...

Did I once see someone mention static stickers for the hotel room windows? Or do I need to get lanyards for them? What special things do you pack?

No tears shampoo, and a large plastic cup to use for rinsing their hair.

Baby wipes, So much easier than trying to find a paper towel somewhere, sun screen, those mini fans, The dollar store has squirt water bottles for the kids with Princesses on them that way they will have their own cups. Rain Jackets, (not poncho's, my kids went through two or three of those...they tear easily), disposable sippy's for the 2 yr old, unless she is ok with a cup and straw, sun glasses, insect repellent wipes, a hat, band aids, first aid kit, aloe for sunburns, and a sewing kit. Im sure there is more, but Thats all I can think of at the moment.

Portable Baby wipes for use everywhere, sunscreen, watershoes for pool and fountain areas. For toys we liked the colorwonder marker sets for the plane ride

We found the battery powered clip on fans to be a god send last time we went in August. The spray mister bottles with fans are also TONS cheaper at Wal-Mart than they are at the park.

Instead of buying disposible cups, keep the plastic cups that you get at Chilis or Cracker Barrel. You can take them with you to use in the parks and either throw them away or reuse them the entire time you are in the park.

A water now doodle book is also good for travel. You fill the "pen" with water and the kids can color without crayons or markers.

I made up little restaurant packets... a little ziplock bag with a plastic table cloth, an individually wrapped wet ones to wash hands, toddler take and toss spoon and fork, napkins or paper towels and a few folded up coloring pages with 3 or 4 crayons. Those little packs were so handy.

I did the same thing for diaper changes, diaper, wipes and a disposable changing table cover.

Utensils for them to eat with. We didn't have any last year and my DD2 couldn't even begin to eat with the large utensils so we ended up buying some and washing them off after every meal. They are at the top of my list this year!!!

I put my wipes in a gallon size zip lock bag so I could take alot to the parks vs that little tiny bit that the small wipes containers hold.

Toilet seat covers, table toppers, foldable toilet seat, lysol wipes (I put them in a baggie too).

Whatever I bring them on the plane is what they get for down time in the room which is usually none since they are either asleep, watching TV or eating. So I don't bring anything extra.

I don't bring them anything for the parks either other then water & a snack or two.

I am already planning what to take for our trip in Dec. Here is a great thread that will help with games and keeping the kids OCCUPIED. I think everything Dolly posted was free:

Just in case you need more Disney advice, Dolly wrote it all done. (She is amazing!) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2179996 :worship:

If you haven't gone to the Creative DISign thread, I must first warn you this will change the way you vacation and is HIGHLY addictive!! I don't kinow what it is? :confused3 There is just something about seeing your kids name next to a Disney character!

I will now be making matching shirts, printing personalized sippie cup labels, printing personalized journals for my DD2 and DD3 which is mainly MK coloring pages, as well as printing M&M tube wrappers for the girls pressed penny collection. FYI-the smaller M&M tubes are better because the larger ones get to heavy with all the coins. As many of you know, 1 pound in the morning feels like a thousand by the end of a park day. I stack in the tubes 2 quarters and a penny (from 1982 or older - less zinc hence no silver smear), repeat a few times.

For the park I always pack the penny tubes in a baggie, autograph books (also in ziploc bag for easy finding), and $1 rain ponchos from Wal-Mart/Target, some snacks and a few water bottles plus the basic diaper bag supplies. It is easier for us to have one back pack so when we get to places where we have to leave the stroller :scared1:, we can just take the back pack, kids and we are off. Bottomline, the less the pack mule has to carry the better. Baby swap is also a great option.

Yes, the Creative DISign forum has the info for the window cling-ons.

Out of the entire DIsney trip, I think my boys had the most fun with the toys I rented from A Baby's best friend. It gave them some "new" things to play with while we were getting ready and before bed at night. We were in a 2 bedroom villas so there was a lot of space for them to play with their trucks and such. It was a great surprise for them.

I've looked into that and the website just lists it as age appropriate toys. What kind of toys did you guys get with the package? Not that we'll need a lot of toys to play with. At the hotel, it will be either sleeping or time at the pool since we're at an All Star resort and the rooms are SMALL!

We made sure to a night lite with us. DS has one in his room and the resort rooms are very very dark at night. One from the dollar store and he was just fine. DH forgot to turn it on one night and when DS woke up as he always does he was a bit scared that he didnt know where he was.

We also had tylenol, and cold and cough stuff with us, just incase.

I take small cans of play dough. It keeps my 5 yo occupied for the longest time. It's great when we are waiting for a parade, etc. Here she is in Epcot sitting on the ground waiting for the candy maker in Japan

At the end of the day, I just throw the play dough away and get fresh ones for the next day.

I just wanted to say that I LOVE your daughter's dress!!!!! and the idea!

We've been at WDW when our kids were 18mo/5yrs and last year when they were 6yo/9yo. I would recommend taking a spare change of clothes (t-shirt, light shorts, undies) in a gallon size ziploc baggie. You never know when you'll need them, and if they need to change clothes, the dirty ones will definitely need to be sealed in a baggie until you get to the hotel. I just throw in the emergency baggie of clothes I've taken with me on the airplane. Obviously, I vote for the wipes and both trips I brought children's Tylenol or Motrin in our backpacks to the parks everyday. In fact at EPCOT a woman was near crying at the check out counter while a CM was digging through their aid drawer looking for children's Tylenol. They only had the sample packets in tablets and child would only take capsules (or something like that), I offered her some of mine (which we hadn't opened yet and was still sealed), but again, it wasn't the right kind the child would take. Lastly, I do dress my kids in bright orange, yellow, Hawaiian shirts or the like, so they stand out in a crowd.

My kids were really freaked by the self-flushing toilets. We followed the tips of putting a small bandaid over the sensor until they were through.

Bandaids, rather than having to go to first aid, and also cortisone cream for bug bites are must takes.

I most recent;ly got the 2-3 group because my sons were 1 and 3 at the time and I figured they could share and I would take out anything too small for my little guy. It came with a bunch of mega-blocks, a bulldozer, bus, a steering wheel thing, and other stuff but you get the idea. It actually came with quite a lot of stuff. You will be surprised how much your kids actually use them, and it gets them out of the way (so to speak:) when you are packing up for the day and trying to get dressed yourselves. They will be at the hotel at bell services when you arrive, just save the bags because you will need to pack them back up at the end of your stay. They are super clean and a great company to work with.
