What are the must have souvies??
I always get a magnet, and we'll do the pressed pennies, but what else is "must have"? Tell me all your secrets! :cool1: For the adults and for the kids!
One of the other ones I'm already planning is the Potato head pieces. I've purchased Darth Tater for the boys and Mrs. Potatohead already.

I always get a small size photo album with the year on it.
Also, on every Disney trip I take I make sure to restock my supply of chocolate covered coconut Mickey heads. They are soooo good! I try to have them in the house at all times, but they dont usually last between trips. ;)

I have a huge collection of antenna toppers! I collect mostly the ones that resemble the Mickey ear ones. I just went to count them and I have 104 plus of course the ones on our cars. I am having trouble figuring out though how to display them all. Right now they are each on small bamboo kabab sticks in glass vases but I would like to find a better way to look at them. Does anyone else out there collect these and if so what do you do with them?

Would they fit in one of those golf ball collection things? You know the ones I'm talking about--wooden, like shadow boxes and they have either indentations or holes in the shallow shelving to hold the golf balls. They might be spaced a little close together, but it might be worth a looksee!

Just an idea. ..

Last time we were there we got a really great picture frame. It was $22 and it has 9 openings. I put our favorite pictures in it, and it is right in our living room so we can see it everyday and be reminded of the great time we had!! It is really nice, black and taupe. Has little Mickeys on it, but not 'cartoony' very nice and classic looking. I love it.

I plan on buying another one next trip, I hope they still have them....

My dd10 also bought 14 charms for her charm bracelet!! I bought one of Mickey and can look at it everytime I look at my wrist!!

And of course, you need to buy t-shirts!

Something gold to celebrate the 50th Anniversary - antenna topper, mickey ears, name badge, charm...

Something that you use everyday. My favorite souvenir from my Disney cruise is a lenticular cup that I use at my office. Every time I drink a glass of water I am reminded of my time on vacation.

Quick funny story-

My 7 year old son and I were at the grocery store the other day and I saw a Mickey antenna topper on the car parked next to us.
He was excited, pointing at it.
I told him we would get one when we are in DL.
He then pointed out to me that we don't have an antenna, it only goes up when the radio is on.....

(good thing he is paying attention before I went and spent money on one!! :rotfl2: )

DH, DD and I all like to wear matching/similar sweatshirts. We are currently wearing red ones that we bought in 2004. I can't wait to find and buy our 2005 or 50Th sweatshirts when we arrive in December.

I suggest buying a map of each park. It's inexpensive and you can have it framed. It makes a lovely art piece to brighten up a room or home. :sunny:

I also get the antenna toppers. I also get the lic plate holders and pens. I have a Disneyland wall at home. I bought the maps and framed them. I put all our pics of us on the rides from every year that we have gone.

Where do you get these? They sound so yummy!

I was wondering too. Sounds like a "must have" to me! When I was little, it was the grape licorice, but since I've gotten older, it doesn't appeal to me quite so much!!

For me its a Christmas ornament. I like to get at least one each trip, preferably with the year on it.

ooh, ya, that is a great idea too! I bought one on our last trip, and loved seeing it on my tree! I will have to get one next trip for sure!

On an email list I belong to, someone talked about using a serger thread holder for her antenna balls... you could get them in walmart or a sewing/craft store.. I think she said she only puts one on the pegs of every second spot.. then they fit nicely...

They sell them in the candy stores, World of Disney, and I believe the resort gift shops. I have gotten them at both DL and WDW. They are in a long rectagular box with pictures of the candy and Mickey with flowers around his head. On the top of the box there are more characters with a beach scene..Minnie doing the hula, etc...

They really are great. I'm not a huge fan of Mounds, and you would think they would be similar, but Mounds can't even compare to these. ;)

I always buy a Disney cookbook- if there is a new edition out! I love those cookbooks. I think I paid about $20-25 for the last one I bought.
