We are trying the DDP for the first time this year. I've got 6 of our 7 TS restaurants decided, but I was wondering what your recommendations for snacks and QS meals are. Last year we spent a lot of our time in the QS areas in our resorts and we will probably hit up the Contempo Cafe a lot, but reading through some of the threads, I realized I'm missing a ton of options that I've never tried (mainly in the parks).

I would love to have your recs (we will be in each park except AK for two days). Also any recommendations of menu items is fine with me :).

The only ones I have so far (for snacks):

Boulangerie Patisserie - Epcot
Starring Rolls Cafe - HS

Also, quick question - If you don't use all your credits in one day, do they roll over? I'm worried about the day we get there when we won't eat two full meals (we will do one TS meal that day) - so can the QS credit be used later in the week or is it strictly 3 credits per day?

For QS meal Wolf Gang Puck express you order then sit and someone brings you food and refills more like a table service but it is QS and the meals are huge and yummy yummy! We had a couple different pizzas my husband loved the BBQ chicken pizza I loved the past with cream sauce bacon and peas. I can't think of the name of it. Their cheesecake is awesome!!!

Also for QS meal in the Park we love Columbia Harbor House I love their fried shrimp basket they also have fish and chips, chicken and chips, lobster roll, baked salmon and a tuna fish sandwhich that is really good and I won't eat Tuna fish outside of the home but I loved theirs.

Another vote for WPE. It's the best counter service deal going - the food is so good.

Yes - Your credits can be used in any order/any day up until midnight the day you check out. If you want all the snacks in one day, you can do that. Or use multiple meals and/or snacks some days and none on others. Mix and match as you like.

If your pasta had Chicken, I think you are talking about the Pennette Chicken Alfredo... Like I said in another thread a little while ago... I am really looking forward to WPE...

QS:
MK Columbia Harbor House
AK Flame Tree BBQ
Ep so many but my favorites are Tangierine Cafe and Boulangerie Patisserie

Snacks: again so many, check out the snack thread at
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2853528

As for credits, they expire at midnight of your checkout day. You can use them as you wish until they expire.

On our trip last june we tried the hot dog place on main street for the first time. I think it's called Caseys. wow were we suprised!!!! I had the BBQ hot dog!! It was great!! I would recomend it for sure!!! :cool1:

If I can figure out how to post a pictue I will.

I love Wolfgang Puck express, there is not a bad thing on the menu...I think we've tried it all.
In Epcot my favortie is the beet and goat cheese salad (I know it really doesn't sound like much but it's awesome:love:) at Sunshine Seasons. Also the Tangerine Cafe is a very close second. France is a nice place to use up some snack credits.
Animal Kingdom Flame Tree is a must. Those ribs just melt in your mouth.
Hollywood Studios, Love the Curry from ABC and Starring Rolls is an excellent choice for snacks, those cupcakes can feed atleast three people.
In Magic Kingdom must have snacks are egg rolls in Adventureland and of course a Dole Whip Float. I enjoy the food at Columbia Harbour House.

.......now I'm hungry.

Thanks everyone! Looks like WPE will definitely be added to the list :).

Our favorite snack is the s'mores bar. We bought them from the candy area of the CR gift shop and used up the last of our snack credits to bring a few home with us. There was a lot of discussion about who got to eat what and when someone ate more than their allotment because those things are so good.

Another vote for WPE, amazing food.

At MK we like Columbia Harbour House and for the best value meal deal get the chicken and ribs combo at Cosmic Rays -enough food to feed two.

Wolfgang Puck Express, Tangerine Cafe (Morocco in Epcot), and Pecos Bills are my 3 favorite counter service meals.

For snacks Dole Whips, Cupcakes at Starring Rolls, and just about anything at Boulangerie Patisserie.

Have a great trip.

We liked Columbia House, too. I agree, for your money, Cosmic Ray's is the best value. You can split meals there and still get enough food.

As for snacks, Dole Whips are a must!! We stayed at the Polynesian last time and I think someone in the family got one almost every night. The caramel place in "Germany" is awesome also!

newly discovered FABUlous snack - Apple Oatmeal cookie with Butterscotch drizzle at Werthers in Germany in EPCOT. OH. MY. GOODNESS.

There are so many great things to choose from. The dole whip float is a great snack credit use as that it is a food and drink combo. It is great in the heat. Also sleepy hollow has huge homemade ice cream sandwiches.

Our favorite quick stops are in Epcot. It is fun to try different places. My husband loves England. Columbia house is very good. We stayed at the Poly last year and found that we loved capt. cook's. Also Cosmic Rays will let you have a half rack of ribs and a half chicken for one QS.

In terms of snack credits:
Kringla Bakery (Norway, Epcot) - waffle, cloudberry horn
Karamell Kuche (Germany, Epcot) - caramel corn (small bag)
Patisserie (France, Epcot)* - almost everything!
Kusafari Bakery (Animal Kingdom) - cupcakes!
Starring Rolls (DHS) - cupcakes!
Aloha Isles (MK) - Dole Whip Floats
Main Street Bakery (MK) - cinnamon rolls

Some of my family's favorite QS locations are:
Sunshine Seasons (Epcot)
Flame Tree (AK)
Cosmic Rays (MK)

*At the Patisserie they will let you use one QS credit to get two pastries and a drink (basically you can choose a pastry for your QS entree and another for your QS dessert).

The credits are allotted at the start of the trip and it's up to you use to them in any order/amount you'd like. So let's say there are two of you going for five nights. You'll have ten TS credits, ten QS credits, and ten snack credits (on the regular DDP). You can use these credits at any point on the trip.

The only major limitation is you cannot use more credits than you have people on your reservation at one time. So, you cannot buy three QS meals at one time. You can only buy two. If you want a third, you'd have to get back in line and purchase it as a separate transaction. This limitation also affects TS credits. It does not affect snack credits (so if you wanted to buy all ten snacks at once, you could!).

Wow...very helpful information...

one question...is the Dole Whip sold anywhere in WDW other than MK?

Thanks"

Dole Whip is sold at Aloha Isles in the MK and at Captain Cook's at the Poly. The Dole Whip Float (Dole Whip with pineapple juice) is only available at Aloha Isles.
