I am heading back to DLR for the first time since 2008. I know there are many new things for me to see (including Cars Land! Yahoo!) but I'm wondering if there are new snacks / treats I should try.

This trip will be a girls' long weekend after a conference, so we are up for most anything! Has anyone tried Trader Sam's? We are staying at the DL Hotel so that seems like a no-brainer, but I would love other suggestions. Are there amazing cupcakes, breakfast treats, etc. that are fairly new? I'd love the DIS-ers' thoughts!

Thanks!:wave2:

I am not a big snack person, I do not really snack while I am at the parks. But I saw some really yummy looking cupcakes & treats at the Jolly Holiday Bakery.

Gibson Girl just re-opened and I hear they have Floats now, might be worth a try. I personally am in love with their waffle cones with strawberry ice cream/chocolate chip ice cream, so I would recommend ice cream :)

I don't think its new but we love the crepes cart in DTD, right in front of the World of Disney entrance by La Brea. Yum! Other than that the usuals, beignets at the Mint Julep window, funnel cake at Stage Door, baked potatoes at the Village Haus (though we make that a light lunch).

Disney's popcorn always tastes better than any other place. Get either a bucket or box and enjoy. Makes a great snack without weighing you down.

Not really a snack but the frozen lemonades are amazing. I always get mine from the vendors cart outside the innovations building before we head into line for space mountain. But i saw you were going to see cars land. It doesnt open until June 15 this year i hope you aren't going until then!

Not new - Dole Whip!!!! No matter what the weather is, its a must have.

Must also have a churro. Not the healthiest of food items, but oh so yummy.

I agree, dole whip is a Disneyland must-do. I have not had the float, however, and might have to indulge in this new-to-me treat sometime ;)

they do baked potatoes at VH now???? I thought they were just at troubador

even though they arent the same...i make one similar to that at home and im hooked on them :rotfl:....i take lemon juice concentrate..about 3 tbsp..and sweetener to taste and 5 ice cubes to a smoothie maker or blender and blend them up...i have to add about 1/4-1/3 cup water to help break up the ice but they are awesome and very refreshing:thumbsup2

Hmmm ill have to try that. I will have to buy a blender though

My favorite snacks are: Dole Whip, churro, giant pickle, chocolate covered banana.

Downtown Disney: Caramel popcorn. This is pure heaven, especially when warm.

I had my first ever chocolate and nuts covered frozen banana in DL 34 years ago. I tried it two more times, once in Toronto CNE and once in WDW, but they were just not the same. Maybe the first ever one would always taste the best. I look forward to eating it again this August.

Dole Whip float and beignets are the must-haves for this trip. I look forward to trying more Disney treats (with 10 lbs to lose to make room for the yummy treats LOL)!

I love the popcorn and then taking a bite out of a pickle mmmmm..then popcorn and pickle, popcorn pickle... lol... although I do wanna try to new bakery that they just opened recently I wanted to eat everything behind the display window.

Oh my! When I go to DLR there are 5 things I must have...

1. Applie Pie Caramel apple (i buy it on the way out the first night then eat it over the next few nights).

2. Churro

3. Hunny Pot rice krispie treat

4. Dole Whip

5. Giant pickle (usually two or three of these things!!!)
