So I am a new poster to the Dis, but I have been "lurking" for several months. Please bear with me and provide feedback on the details of my trip.
We are planning our second trip to WDW and the AKL May 15th thru the 23rd. My DW and Dd and I visited in 2003 in May for the first time and had a fantastic visit. Someday I may post a story about the Pixie dust that we received on that trip. It was just too good to be true. This time around we are bringing Ds (18 months old) as well.
Anyway...this time around I decided to go Disney all out. We had the $$$ so I decided to plan a great trip. I began researching and stumbled across the Dis and this forum. I did not even know that Concierge existed yet alone what they could do for you. We considered all the Deluxe resorts, but Dd really wanted to go back to AKL (we had a Savannah view room the first time) and DMIL will be going as well to watch the little ones and had seen the Great Hotels special and really wanted to stay there. (She has never been to Florida yet alone WDW). The Dis came through with Trip reports, hotel reviews, dining, etc.
I decided to book 8 nights Concierge at AKL and immediately contacted the Concierge staff by phone and e-mail and started planning with them roughly 50 days ago. Since then, they have helped to put together every PS we wanted and special event that needed to be booked. This includes:
1) CRT for breakfast on Dd's 5th birthday
2) Princess Storybook Dinner on Dd's 5th birthday
3) My Girl Princess Tea party for DW and Dd
4) Fantasmic Dinner
5) Hoop De Doo
6) Sunrise Safari
We have several other PS's for character dining and other meals. All confirmed. Ds and I have food allergies...told the Concierge that and they have noted it in our PS's and have told the Chefs at Jiko and Boma. They have helped to arrange to get a new Princess dress delivered to my Dds room for the Tea Party as a surprise. There really has been no request that I
have made that they have not gotten back to me on very quickly. They have even been teaching DW and I Swahili words in the e-mails.
We have about 45 days to go. The trip is planned. I should be able to go to Disney and be stress free. I know that you pay for this level of service, but they really do go all out to make sure that your trip is planned. Gotta give them big thumbs up and thanks to everyone who posts here. It is a great resource.
