What are the must do's at WDW? I was told to catch the fireworks at Epcot. Is there anything else that is a must, especially for my dd who is 4?
Thanks in advance
:flower3:

I have a list of must do's for my upcoming Grand Gathering Trip. We have a lot of personalities and ages but here is what I am recommending they do not miss - some will work for 4y/o some will not.

Magic Kingdom - Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Crystal Palace, Nighttime parade and fireworks, Mickey's Philharmagic, Buzz Lightyear, winnie-the-pooh, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Dumbo.

Epcot - Soarin, Turtle Talk with Crush (also new nemo ride), Test Track, World Showcase and the fireworks

Animal Kingdom- Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, It's tough to be a bug, Lion King, Kilimanjaro Safari, afternoon parade. I will probably add the nemo musical.

Disney MGM studios - FANTASMIC, MUPPET VISION, little mermaid, beauty and the beast, tower of terror.

Also check WDW website for toddler and preschool friendly activities.
Hope this helps.

Mickey's Philharmonic was great, but it ruined all most the rest of our vacation for my son, age 5!!! He was never to a 3-d movie before. He was sooo scared about the stuff "flying out" at him!!! We had to DRAG him on "It's a small world". And everything after that for the next 8 days was "will stuff fly out at me?" Make sure you do Micky's house in MK! We went through the house and got right in to see Mickey! And it was like a private meet and greet with Mick!!!!!

All the night shows were spectacular!!! Epcot was my husbands favorite! The Disney light parade (can't remember the proper name) was my favorite!!

Last but not least. Animal Kingdom Safari Tour!! We stayed in the Animal Kingdom lodge, so the Safari Tour topped off our stay!!!!!

Everything is a must do at Disney. As far as dining Norway has the princess breakfast( thumbnail pic in my sig is from there). Playhouse Disney Play N Dine @ Hollywood & Vine every 15 mins JoJo & Goliath and 2 of Leo, Annie, Quincy, & June will have dance party. Checkout Playhouse Disney Live & Voyage of the Little Mermaid at MGM. You can also have dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Perla, I can't remember the other mouse's name right @ 1900 Park Fare.

You can also take her to the Bibiddi, Bobiddi, Bootique for 35 she can get her hair and makeup done.

A must for us is dinner at the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary so that we can watch the fireworks from MK. CG pipes in the music. Just fabulous!

Magic Kingdom - Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted House, Parades, Fireworks.

Disney MGM Studios - Fantasmic, R 'n' R Coaster, Tower of Terror.

Epcot - Test Track, Spaceship Earth, Illuminations Reflections Of Earth.

AK - The Lion King, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safari.

Sorry can't say anything for a 4yr old i've never taken one to Disney. [although I acted like one while we were there] :thumbsup2

I would have to agree with the BBBoutique! I went by there today and every child had the biggest smile on their faces . . . and so did all the adults!
For MK I would suggest the Peter Pan Ride because whenever I take a young relative they go crazy over the idea of being in the movie and flying in their own ship!
Have fun!

We just got back a few days ago from our trip and the BBB was awesome, my DD and I both did it and I am not sure who had more fun!!
I will definitely tell you be very careful with anything 3D, my DD turned 5 while on our trip and she HATED It's tough to be a bug, and Honey I Shrunk the Audience. She went on ToT, Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad, Soarin, and other big rides and was more afraid of the 3D stuff. For the rest of our trip, too, she would ask if there would be any snakes, cats, or bugs in what we were going into.

Definitely DO NOT MISS the SpectroMagic parade and Wishes fireworks at Magic Kingdom. Get yourself a Dole Whip while you're there, it's the BEST.

At Animal Kingdom, The Festival of the Lion King is INCREDIBLE and not to be missed.

I could list so many things, but those are the tops IMHO.

Enjoy your magical trip!!!!!:goodvibes

I agree that It's a Small World is a must-do at Magic Kingdom. Safari ride at Animal Kingdom... Nemo at EPCOT... there are so many good rides, but these are my personal faves for that age group.

Have a blast, and take TONS of pictures!

the dumbo ride! not very exciting for you but great for your 4 year old. oh and pictures!

Sometimes in our rush to "do" and "see" everything we can easily miss the little moments. Take your time when you first enter the Magic Kingdom - watch your children's reaction the first moment that they stand before Cinderella's Castle. It is joy personified.
We went in December for my DH's and DD's (7) first trip. You can never recapture that first experience so take it slowly. We have a digital camera that also is also a digital video camera and we filmed our first ride on the teacups - from inside the teacup. When our daughter was giggling and twirling around she shouted, "We're going to be dizzy after this!" - it was a moment of pure happiness, sheer enjoyment.

FYI - we've been home for 6 weeks and are still a little dizzy. Must be... we just booked another trip!

Philharmagic!! Absolutely :thumbsup2

I would not recommend this for a 4 year old. My granddaughter is 5 and quite adventurous and goes on Everest but gets scared at the 3D things coming at her.

If she likes roller coasters try Barnstormer at MK. Our girls have riden it since they were 2.

I would also recommend Fantasmic and Wishes fireworks over Epcot Fireworks. If you can't do them all the first 2 are more enjoyable for small kids.

Don't miss Lion King and Safari at Animal Kingdom, Nemo and Crush at Epcot,
and if Dumbo is too crowded try Aladdin, it does the same thing and is usually less crowded.

I agree to take your time and enjoy each moment. There is so much magic there that you feel just by being there. I have been there over 50 times and just last week noticed there is a weathervane on top of Peter Pan that has the ship on itl

Really?? When I went there were loads of young kids having a great time watching the show. Also a big plus is that it isn't out in the hot sun where toddler's skin can burn easily. I suppose as with all suggestions you have to know the child you are dealing with. One thing might be horribly wrong for one kid and absolutely right for another.

You're right, it really depends on the child. Who would think that my 5 yr old would love Everest and be afraid of 3D? We have found a key is to know what it is and prepare her for what is coming and she does better. I agree it is wonderful to be in the a/c!
