Must Do/See/Eat at AKV??

DH & I have decided to make a quick trip down for our anniversary. I was just able to book a Value Studio at Jambo for 2 nights in May! We just want to stay at the resort, relax, swim, eat, etc.

Please give me any and all tips, advice, suggestions you have!

Don't miss Sanaa at Kidani. The food is wonderful & the decor/ atmosphere truly stunning.

The resort has a large collection of African art. It is scattered around the resort with displays set up throughout every floor in both Jambo and Kidani as well as in the lobby areas. Just wander down every hallway on each floor and you'll find displays up on the walls, in display cases near the elevator, in nooks and crannies in the wall, along with information posted near each piece to describe what it is and where it came from.

It's also one of the best resorts for dining with Boma and Jiko in Jambo House and Sanaa in Kidani and also The Mara, the counter service restaurant in Jambo House. It can be difficult to get into Boma so book it now if you think you want to try it while you're there.

We love Boma and the movies in the pool at night time. Also you have to try the Zebra desserts( I think that's what they are called but not made of zebra )

Definitely sample Zebra Domes (also available at Mara), and you might like the night vision goggles at Jambo near the pool. We like the crafts too -- did ceramics last AKL trip, and I'm planning on making a necklace this coming May.

If you're there when you can dine at Sanaa with an Animal Specialist, do it!

if you are splurging, you might want to book a wanyama safari if they are doing that while you are there. it's an afternoon tour of the savannas ending in a "family-style" meal at jiko.
