We are honeymooning in Disney Feb 9-16 and we are staying at the WL. I have been to Disney before but have not really gone to the nicer places to eat. We are pretty picky eaters and we were looking at V&A's but the menu did not really sound appealing to me. It would be a total waste of money.
We already have reservations for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue which we are excited about.

Also we are thinking about maybe a character breakfast but we were uneasy about going with no kids. Is it too kiddie for adults to go alone. Which one is the best??

I know that we want to do a Fantasmic Dinner Package and was wondering which restaurant is the best for this. We went this past July and had to wait about 2 hrs and that really wasn't fun.

Please help with any advice that you may have. We need help so we can make our ps's. That is if there are any still left.:bounce:

Thanks
Tiffany:D

Definitely do a character breakfast. My fiancé and I have been to several during our past 2 trips and have enjoyed them all. Obviously they all have kids, but some are more geared towards kids than others. While we loved Chef Mickey's, it seemed to be the place for families, I guess since Mickey is there and also it's close proximity to Magic Kingdom. But the villans dinner at 1900 Park Fare (now Pooh and Mary Poppins or something like that) had several tables of adults dining alone. I'm not sure if WL still has characters at Artist Point, but if so maybe try that one. A lot of couples stay at that hotel so there may be less kids at a character breakfast. Also, Garden Grill in Epcot seems to be a good mix of people and also not as crowded as some other character restaurants. I was there once in November around 5pm and we were one of about 4 tables in the whole restaurant! It was just me and my grandmother and the characters dressed up in their farm attire sat and "ate" with us. Each one stayed for at least 10 minutes and at one point every character was squeezed into our booth. Of course, most of this attention can be attributed to the time of year (about a week before Thanksgiving), but we've been over spring break in March and it was still not packed. As far as nice, sit-down, no character meals, I would suggest Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club, Citricos or Narcoosee's at GF, and Le Cellier in Epcot (Canada). Congrats and have fun!!

The Palio restaurant at the Swan hotel is such a lovely place, and never too crowded, since it is in a hotel off the Boardwalk. The menu features pizza as well as other pasta dishes and, of course, various meat and fish choices.
When we were there, a violinist went from table to table playing songs from "Beauty and the Beast" etc.
I hope this helped. --Wilma:earsgirl:

My dh and I enjoy San Angel. Especially if you're going during hot weather it makes a great afternoon break.

Since you are staying at the WL, I highly recommend Artist Point. Very nice, sophisticated, great food, wine, and quiet!!

At the parks I too second San Angel Inn in Mexico as being romantic with good food, very relaxing and serene. Bistro de Paris or Chefs de France also has awesome food and wine with the Bistro being more upscale. In MK, CRT can be romantic overlooking Fantasyland for lunch or dinner. Oh, and in MGM I highly recommend Hollywood Brown Derby. We were there last week and had an awesome meal and it was very relaxing and they also have a full bar. I have a full review of it under this thread titled: "Restaurant Reivews - 11/2 - 11/8" if you are intrested.

GF has several good choices like others have mentioned that are more quiet and sophisticated.

Absolutely do a character meal!! We did one on our honeymoon and had a fun time, not to mention great pictures from it!! Pick what characters you'd like to meet and get pictures and book it from there!

DH and I ate at Cindy's for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful time from the pixie dust on our table to our special suprise at the end that is only available to those celebrating an anniversary or honeymoon.

While staying at one of the best resorts on property, a must is Artist Point. We (wife and I) have ate there many times in the past 8 years and have yet to have a bad meal. Ask for (and wait if necessary) for a window seat by the waterfalls. Afterwards spend time in the lobby on the couches, chairs by the three fireplaces or overlooking the outdoor/pool area with an after dinner drink to relax and enjoy each others company (remember your resort room is just minutes away). I will second the choice for the Grand Floridians' character breakfast as a choice for those without children. We have done all of them either as a couple or as new parents (21 month old). Chef Mickeys I know is highly rated but the food is mediocre and the atmosphere is like recess at grade school. Citricos, Flying fish and Narcoosees have good variety (picky eater) and great atmosphere. Also, share a burger, fries and milkshake at Beaches and Cream

For Fantasmic nite, I'd suggest Brown derby.

Other possible "honeymoon "choices:
Narcoosee' s or Citrico's at GF.
Artist Point
California Grill
Palio
Jiko at AKL
Portobello Yacht Club in DD

Thanks so much for all of your replies. This will really help!!!
Keep the ideas coming. :)
Thanks,
Tiffany

For a honeymoon dinner V&A is the first choice, don't be scared off by the menu, my DW was a little nervous too about what to eat there. But now I keep her away because the experience along with the meal makes this place magical. Otherwise California Grille or Flying Fish are great places. For CG get PS 30 -45 minutes or before the fireworks. For FF you can watch the Epcot fireworks before or after dinner. Just check the times. Since your staying at WL go to Artist Point one night.

For Fantasmic go to the Brown Derby. The best of the choices.

For a character breakfast Cape May Cafe is a good choice for couples without children.

But most of all, where ever you go tell them your on your honeymoon and WDW will treat you extra special.

Congrats

we chose WDW for our honeymoon as well! we stayed at the ASMu...

we did 2 character breakfasts...chef mickey's and donald's breakfastosaurus in AK. we liked donald's the best! we got to go into AK before the park opened and had wonderful character interaction...chef mickey's was more...ummmm...scheduled. the characters spent only so much time at your table...basically long enough for an autograph and a signature. if your goal is for mickey, i'd say go, but if not...try one of the others!

we ate at a few place that seem to get bad reviews, but we had wonderful experiences! we tried alfredo's and it was wonderful! we were lucky enough that we weren't seated along the wall of the restaurant. so it didn't seem all that crowded to us. we'd probably go back, but there are others that we want to try...

we also tried marakkesh...it was also wonderful!! we went at an off time so there was no belly dancer, but it was still great. our server was awesome (miriem) and would patiently explain and recommend each dish that we had. we'll definitely go back!

we didn't have to tell everyone that we were honeymooners. they gathered that by our hats! but we did get some extra pixie dust here and there...

best wishes!!

Do a character meal!! DH and I honeymooned at WDW in 2000 and we did a character breakfast...and we've done one every trip since! They are wonderful!! We've done Chef Mickeys twice and Donald's Breakfast. We enjoyed both. The food was always hot and fresh. :) We're doing Crystal Palace in May. We stayed at the GF for our honeymoon and we did a character meal at 1900 park fare...it was ok.

We started our honeymoon w/ dinner at California Grill. It was a magical way to start our honeymoon. :) The food is great and the view is amazing! Especially the MK fireworks. Now, it is a bit nosier than we were expecting, but I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Lunch or Dinner at Cinderella's Castle is alway nice, too. We received a nice gift while dining there for our honeymoon. :) And we didn't even tell the CM that it was our honeymoon..she just guessed. LOL!

Okay, I know I am going to sound really crazy, but someone wrote a reply on here about getting pixie dust because they were on their honeymoon and I really do not have a clue what that is.
Can someone please help me understand. :D

Thanks,
Tiffany

My hubby & I always go to character meals & don't feel out of place at all. It is often cheaper or the same price as other sit-down meals for just the 2 of us & in addition to the meal - we get to see characters, too!

Our favorites are:

Breakfast: Crystal Palace

Lunch: Hollywood & Vine

Dinner: Liberty Tree Tavern

We tried Chef Mickey's after all of the rave reviews & felt it was geared more towards families. It was very loud & we felt like sardines packed into our little table in between 2 very large families. The character interaction was not very good on the night we were there. We will be trying some new character meals this December as well. Hope this helps!

It was our 24th honeymoon when we got the Pixie Dust. We were shown to our table which had a lot of mickey head confetti on the table. The hostess called it pixie dust and we believed. I did feel kind of guilty when this little girl walked by our table and asked her mom why they didn't get any of it on their table!!!

Tiffany, congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

We just came back from a honeymoon vacation at WDW. We did three character breakfasts and we loved it although there was no little ones following after us. We went to 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's and Hollywood & Vine. 'Ohana was our favourite in terms of food and atmosphere.

As for sit down restaurants, we went to Chefs De France, Cindy's (got pixie dust!), Brown Derby, Jiko, and Wolfgang Puck. We love all of them. Brown Derby would be a good choice for Fantasmic since the food is great, not too far from the theatre, and yet not too close so that you can walk off some of the food before you sit in the theatre for more than 30 minutes....

Don't forget to wear your ear hats. You never know what they are going to do to you. We wore it and enjoyed it!!

California Grill
Ohanas
both can over a scenic view while dining
Enjoy!!!
