I'm going to Disney as a last-minute trip! :) What scrapbooking items are a must buy? Is the downtown disney store still open?

Any other things I should pick up while I'm in the parks? I usually bring home the maps and park tickets.

:flower:

Scoopy up that Mickey confetti wherever you can! ;) We brought a bunch home (I wasn't scrapping at the time) and I have no idea what DD did with it! :( I'd love to put some in a shaker box or even just seal it up to use on LOs.

Do you keep your room key/card?

Do you take photos of the food when it comes at meals? I never did - just never thought of it. Now I wish I had! Between using it for regular Disney LOs, I'm working on a recipe book & wish I had photos of our favorites! :(

pirates mate...

if you want i could rak you some mickey confetti...we have tons...i even did a lo about my son collecting them!!!

let me know...

for me, must buy items would include the mickey icon shaped eyelets, they have some mickey paper clips now, and what ever you think you would want...i have heard that they have new character punches. they also have some really cool book marks that i plan on using in an album some day...

but eyelets and paperclips are must buys for me.

If you're not afraid of lumps & bumps in your books...my sister brought home some interesting swizzle sticks & a cute dolphin cup hanger thingie from one of her trips a number of years ago. I think they'd work well in a book!

There's also a really neat set of rubber stamps with the characters (full body & just their heads) and one for each of the parks. It comes in a wooden box.

I bought that box o stamps, it also includes the icons for each park and it's great

If you are going to Epcot, get the set of the countries post cards. I got home and realized that I didn't have a picture for each of the countries and didn't even think about post cards :guilty:

Ask for a copy of the menu at sit-down restaurants - it's gotten now where when I ask they say, "Let me guess, scrapbook?" :-)

After you get a fast pass, put your ticket in and get a fastpass with the 'you can't have one yet' message - they have neat ride logos on the top.

Character autographs!

Pretty napkins..

That's all I can come up with for now...

I'll try to get some confetti and send it along with your CJ when I get it. Pictures of the food is a great idea! There's a thread over on the restaurants board with food pictures that just made me drool! I might make a scrapbook just on the food since we're on the free dining plan and will be eating at all the good places. The menus posted at the allearsnet site will come in handy for this.

Con't forget to get ethy confetti they throw at the parades.

Hi! Sorry to hijack - but where do you find the Mickey confetti (other than at the barbershop)? I'd love to bring some home and need to know where to look on our next trip.

I'm sure you know about these, but often you'll get free Mickey stickers when you buy stuff at the stores. Ask if you aren't offered any - can't hurt!

I don't have too many other new ideas that haven't already been said, but I do have the masks the kids did at Epcot with the charms attached. I think I might put one in the scrapbook on a page with no photos to save one of them. Once the kids went "around the world" and got all their charms, they got an 8 1/2 by 11 print of Goofy and the gang. One of those will go in too! Also, there are kidcot activities my dd3 did while waiting for the boys on their rides. I'll incorporate them too. I am sure none of these are acid free.

you don't have to go to the barber shop to get the confetti. if you dine in one of their restaurants, they have it there also.

we have tons of it!!! my kids collect it by the handful!!! we usually go around a birthday, so the birthday boy/girl has many birthday celebrations, each night for dinner and if we do a character breakfast as well. they put it all over the table.

Hey that's a great idea! I've had DS's mask just laying around for the past 3 years. It still has the stick part but I'll just remove it and scrap the mask! Duh...I wish I had taken pics of him making it...but I wasn't a scrapper back then! :rotfl:

Don't forget to pick up all the coasters that housekeeping leaves in your room. I think I came home with about 20 if the last trip. And AKL has the BEST african themed stationary. the back side is gorgeous.

the castle punch and the new castle charms are very cool. Any of the park-exclusive paper/sticker packs.

I will warn you to NOT get the "shoe stamper" set. Looks cute, works horribly. I gave it to DDs :(

If you're staying on-property...I keep our "your room is here" map of the resort you get at check-in as well as the resort newsletter. I usually end up cutting up the newsletter and using bits and pieces of it, and do a 2-page lay out w/the map and pictures of us in our room w/a postcard of the hotel.

Love this thread! :)

We're going in December. I should be setting aside a budget now for scrapping stuff. Ooh, and an extra suitcase. :earseek: ;)

Is the Mickey confetti in a package? Or is it just loose? Just Mickey shaped?

For my birthday in July, DH gave me $100 in Disney Dollars to use just for scrapbooking and to NOT feel guilty spending it. The money is not even in the amount we budgeted to take with us.
:cheer2:
