Music in the Resorts

Is anyone else like me? Does anyone else feel that the music played in the resort helps tremendously with the theming?

I love the music played at the Wilderness Lodge out by the pool. I don't know the word that describes the type of music they play at WL (maybe someone can help me) but it adds so much to the atmosphere. On the other hand, the music played at the pool at the Contemporary can be found on any radio tuned to a popular music station. That doesn't add much to the atmosphere there. And I can't remember any music being played at the pool at the Grand Floridian, however, the piano and the orchestra are truly fabulous. I also can't remember any music anywhere at the Yacht and Beach Club, but I could be mistaken. They ought to pipe in some sound of the ocean, seagulls, buoy bells, etc.

Does the Polynesian play themed music?

Yes the Poly has Hawaiian music and it is deffinitely what adds to the ambiance of the resort. They have this war drum song that my son loves and we have bought countless CD's and can't seem to find it. They sell the music at the gift shop in the lobby of the GCH. Have a nice trip. We'll be there in 2 weeks and 2 days, can't wait.

I absolutely LOVE the music they played at the quiet pool at the BC last May. The music was acoustic guitars-so relaxing and a perfect fit

Randyl I agree that the music adds a lot to the theming. As far as the theming of the music at the Contemporary...wouldn't popular music of today be "contemporary"?

There's nothing like Hawaiian Christmas music!! They were playing the Christmas music when we were there last Thanksgiving as you walked through the grounds... After awhile we knew the songs and knew what was coming on next. It was great!! I never thought to check in the lobby stores to see if they had the CD for sale.

I also loved the themed music at CSR and POR on my trips there. They do sell CD's of the music to take the "magic" home. What a great way to "relive" a great vacation.
BTW I have been to Poly over Christmas, and agree that the Hawaiian Christmas music was beautiful.

I would call the music at WL Western Movie Theme Music. Most of it is.

I love the WL music, and also the African music at the AKL!
