Hi everyone! I need your help!!
My organization at school is hosting a dance for individuals with disabilities. The theme is Hollywood.
I have a bunch of Disney songs, and some songs from Grease, Dirty Dancing and a few other movies, but not nearly enough.
Can you recommend any songs from movies, tv, or broadway that pre-teens/teenagers would want to dance to? They're not crazy about slow songs.
Or any songs at all?

Footloose, anything from Hairspray, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, We Will Rock You, FAME, That Thing You Do, Singin' In The Rain, Boogey Woogie Bugle Boy, I Got Rhythm

And don't forget Who Let the Dogs Out! I hate that song but kids seem to really like it.

Almost all the songs from Josie And The Pussycats are fun (though avoid the stuff by "Du jour" especially "Backdoor Lover" for your dance). The movie Balls Of Fury featured a whole lot of Def Leppard (Rock Rock Til You Drop,Rock Of Ages, Foolin' Let's Get Rocked), so some might recognize some of those tunes. The Shrek movies had some good tunes (Can't Get Enough Of You Baby by Smashmouth. AllStar by them would be good too).

Songs -The Saga Begins by Weird Al might be fun, which is about a movie. I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow (was in Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion) I Would Walk 500 Miles by The Proclaimers (I know this was in something but can't think of it off the top of my head).

Can't forget about the HS musical soundtrack.

(Though, truthfully, I think I will take a screwdriver and smash my ear drums in them if I hear any of those songs one more time)

I Would Walk 500 Miles by The Proclaimers (I know this was in something but can't think of it off the top of my head).

I know it was in Benny & Joon with Johnny Depp. And on How I Met Your Mother.

Thank you everyone!!!
These are great ideas! I have a bunch of these soundtracks already, just never really considered them for the age group I guess.
I'm hoping this dance goes well, we've had about double the RSVPs as in the past!:faint:

I'm a Believer from Shrek is good too. In fact, if you have the Shrek soundtracks there are several others that would work - Livin La Vida Loca, Holding out for a hero etc.
