I'm looking for info about what music options there are for SCP during the meal instead of having live musicians.

We are probably going to pay to have the Wishes Fireworks music piped in. What exactly do we get for the money? Do they patch into the Disney sound system or is it actually a CD player that is used? I've read on the DisBoards that Disney have a CD to hand in case anything goes wrong with the sound. So does this mean we're actually paying a large sum of money to have a technician hang around in case there's a problem? Do they hook up a speaker? If it is a CD player they use, can we play our own CDs on the system during dinner? At no extra cost?!

We had a DP at SCP and had the music piped in. It was very loud...sounded like we were in the park. And it was timed perfectly to the fireworks.

I know that even if you want to have an iPod, you have to pay a AV fee. Maybe they will combine the AV fee for an iPod, since you're going to have the music for Wishes, anyway.

We also had our DP at Sago Cay, we didn't have the music piped in and it was still really nice to see the fireworks, plus if you listened really hard, you could hear the music from Magic Kingdom. If I had the extra ?$800 I would've had the music though.

Thanks Heidi - It was your lovely wedding report that convinced me we should get the music piped in. We're going to be a very intimate wishes wedding party of only 6 people, so the thought of having a violinist follow us around all evening just doesn't appeal! So, ideally, we'll be able to pay Disney one AV set up fee which will get the fireworks music plus allow us to play a couple of CDs of our own choice during the rest of the evening:rolleyes1

Thanks Pinkerbell. A few years ago we watched the fireworks from the outside rooftop at the California Grill. That was the same: we could just about hear the music, but because light and sound travel at different speeds, the music was out of sync with the exploding fireworks! I hadn't appreciated before that how well choreographed the whole music/fireworks arrangement is. :)

Thank you! We loved it, but it definitely is a splurge. I hope they allow you to play CDs! That would definitely make it more cost-effective!
