Muppets Exec and star discuss the future of Muppets at Disney

Now that I got that offa my chest - it's interesting to hear them all but admit that Muppet Vision 4D is up in the air. "IF this new show goes well, then we'll see..." or the like.

Just stating that I want the Muppet's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do too and given where they are re-theming them to star wars would be great. to make them fit the likely area. Having said that given the number of people who have commented on this I would say things do not look good.

I agree, it doesn't look good but I love the Muppet's so going to to toss it out there.

I want more Muppets in the park, not less. I'd be all over an expanded Muppet land, but I know that's too much to hope. If they released a blu-ray of the 4D show (in 3D) or even put it on a bonus feature, I'd be happy to replace MV4D, as long as it was a new Muppet attraction.

I'm hoping the Muppets do well. I think the new show is funny. My brother adores the Muppets at HS. It was his number one must do for our fall trip.

So basically let's spread the word to watch the new show and hopefully the ratings are high and then they'll give the Muppets their rightful place(s) in Hollywood Studios.

I gave the show two weeks, I just can't get into it. I hope it does well cause I do believe the Muppets need to be updated and kept in the parks.

So phase out the already owned and kid friendly Muppet franchise..... and put 100's of millions into a not so kid friendly Avatar franchise?

I agree that Muppet's 4D is showing it's age and needs to be redone. But like Soaring and other Digital shows, they could create more of a random show type of experience. Or instead of a 4D move... some 4D Animatronics might be a little more impressive.

How many movies do the Muppet's have under their belt now?

The Muppet attraction needs to be replaced for sure! They once, long ago, were to have a much bigger footprint in Disney's currently named Hollywood Studios park. There is a legacy with the Muppets and there must always be a place for them at a Disney park! I would LOVE for there to be a Muppet Land with Muppet themed attractions, restaurant and meet and greets! They have crossed generations and will always be popular even if not a billion dollar a year earner. The new show keeps them current yet they still are true to character and both are extremely important! So whether Disney makes my Muppet dream come true by creating a Muppet Land in the New Disney's Hollywood "Adventure" park, or they update the Muppet theater to a Star Wars themed "Muppets In Space" attraction, or go smaller and update one of the areas in The Great Movie Ride with a Muppet Themed section, the Muppets NEED to remain!!! Here is a far out thought, how about moving them to Epcot, retheme the Wonders of Life Pavilion to a Muppet hosted Weather Pavilion??? What do you think Disney?

I always liked that 4-D muppet movie, but the muppets always seemed out of context at Disney for me.

I LOVE that the Muppets are part of Disney! Jim Henson was smart to make the deal he made with Disney! I personally feel they fit really well! Disney actually had a great deal planned for the Muppets at the formerly named Disney/MGM Studios. After Jim Henson's death things fell apart a bit due to disagreements with Henson's family if I remember correctly. Mama Melrose's was to originally be a Muppet themed restaurant for one example. Great things could still be done!
