Muppet Vision 3D

I like Muppets 3D. Could they up date it and make it better....probably.

I agree it could be updated, but I would rather see them spend the money on something else.:thumbsup2

At least Captain EO is so old it is kind of kitschy and fun. This attraction is just annoying. I have stated this for years, that it is the worst of all attractions in WDW. It needs an overhaul and a half.

Bobby Roberts ( I love WDW, I really do. But there is alot of stuff that ticks me off compared to the good old days)

Muppets is one of my must-do attractions, I'm afraid, but then I'm British and we are peculiarly nuts about the Muppets.

You talk about it being dated and I agree, it doesn't look modern anymore and some of that problem is due to the animatronics, which need an overhaul. But I think the show (3D naffness aside) does still remain popular with different generations - kids are coming to it courtesy of the movies and the older folk go to it because of the Jim Henson connection.

I'm ambivalent about Bean Bunny but kids do seem to like him (and they love the guy in the Muppet costume who comes out to find Bean) and if you're talking about dating the attraction, then the fastest way of doing that with a revamp is to stick a celebrity in them. Nothing ages a movie more than someone famous.

The pre-attraction show is probably my all-time favourite thing at Disney. Pure Muppet mayhem.

Its a must do for us. An overhaul to make it better? I'm on board! I wish there were more muppet attractions. There orginally was supposed to be, then Jim Henson passed away and it changed things. Mama Mia's was supposed to be Rizzo the rats!

Personally I think that stitch thing they call an attraction in MK is the worst.

I agree with you that adding a celebrity would be the fastest way to date an attraction. That was something I hadn't thought about, but there would most likely be lot of interest from celebrities, because there are so many in the latest movies!
Also one of the best lines in all of Disney: "A tribute to all nations, but mostly America"

Get Neil Patrick Harris in there somehow - popularity will go through the roof!!

I have to agree. Last trip i was on it and it died half way though. I said to the CM as i was leaving, i thought this shorter version was so much better... He actually looked annoyed... I guess he loves the attraction...

As far as the Muppets, they are timeless so a new movie would be great but if not it will not change the amount of people who visit it each day... Just remember, a new movie and they have to change the whole theater...walls, lights, seat vibrators and so on. It would not be cheap. It is not just a movie it would be the whole attraction...

I think this was Henson's last muppet project he completed, I think that is one of the reasons they've never changed it. Maybe it could use some updating, but my family enjoys it everytime we visit.

Was just there a few days ago and noticed that Muppet Vision 3D was almost like a ghost attraction. Theater was less than half full, and that was during regular park hours. I always enjoy the show, but it's definitely dated. They keep mentioning it when rumors come around about Cars Land and Star Wars Land. I'd hate to see them go.

It's not going. They've added interactive items to the wye that will begging working once magic bands are completely on line. Theses interactive things have been added to many rides in the ques but haven't been made functional yet since Disney is still dealing with so many other issues. I have heard rumored that backlot tour will be the site of a new cars land. It remains to be seen.

I have heard rumored that backlot tour will be the site of a new cars land
I think I started that rumor after I carefully studied the California version and saw that it would fit almost perfectly into the backlot area (I posted a visio picture of it about a year ago)...and if they did that they could turn Catastrophe Canyon into part of Carsland...a short mountain tour (Filmore's Hippy Dippy Canyon Tour where everything goes wrong), they'd have to 'dress-up' the north side of the canyon with rock-face and eliminate the how-its-done afterwards (leave it a mystery for future guests).
Before that, though, I posted an earlier Visio picture of how they could make lots of room for a Star Wars land without getting rid of Muppets 3D by eliminating the (stupid) south entrance and moving the entrance to the back of the parking lot (where all traffic is sent anyway). If they do this they could also eliminate the overloaded north entrance as well. South traffic would be diverted to Victory Way via the Osceola Parkway, while north traffic would simply use the newly created dual-left turn lanes created from Buena Vista Drive onto Victory Way where both streams would enter from the same source. Then the north parking lots would empty out the north exit, while the south parking lots would empty out a (new) south exit (back to Victory Way which offers MANY exit options verses the single lane to I-4 that BVDrive offers).
This would open up a HUGE area of land south of park where Star Wars and even Muppets could expand into without affecting ANY of the existing park.
The old south entrance could be a cast entrance with the whole area just past the gate up to where the old gates were could be cast parking allowing the SW main parking lot to be used to park the additional cars arriving as a result of the major park upgrades.

They need to EXPAND these parks to increase potential capacity, not replace attractions which only would bring in a 'different' crowd along with a small initial (uncomfortable) bump after the replacement attraction(s) open.
History has shown that crowds to Walt Disney World will only increase, further perpetuated by the increase in Disney rooms on the property.
If they don't do this they will have to go back to insane operating hours like they had where there was just the Magic Kingdom (e.g. 8-2am) to handle the crowds.
This is especially true at the Magic Kingdom, which is always 'full', and 'packed' during every holiday. That is why I feel that they should continue the Fantasyland expansion into the area behind the (faux) castle, and further propose that in this area they the build a new dual-track (twice the capacity) expanded version of the endlessly popular Peter Pan's Flight along with (the originally proposed) Pixie Hollow, and bring back Mr. Toads Wild Ride (with it's high capacity dual track to hell)...there's plenty of room for all of this.
This would vastly increase park capacity, provide a home for the Pixies, bring back a bit of history, open up the old Peter Pan area for an alternate (less demanding) use and meet the demand for Peter Pan, which would be even more popular with a longer modernized attraction taking what we love and making it better...maybe add some magic band magic to it having the characters address each car by name (watch out Debbie)...like ET at Universal tried to do (I never heard it, though)...It would be SO cool if Peter Pan flew up to your flying pirate ship and invited you on the trip to NeverNeverLand then flew off in front into the darkness and you follow into the darkness as the city fades into the distance. Each track could be a mirror image of the other providing a different perspective of the attraction from each track.
Furthermore they could/should move the (out-of-place) racetrack to the other side of the train tracks and convert it into electric toon-cars driving through toon-town and open up that entire area to almost double the area of Tomorrow-Land.
Oh, and expand Adventureland with the Indiana Jones ride built into the base of Fire Mountain...oooooooo, yes!!!
That's all I want...

I heard it following D23. Don't know if that was you or not. I have heard it many times since with very compelling supporting evidence. I don't expect it anytime soon though due to halts on expansions and new theming due to over spending on MM+ though.
