Muppet Vision 3D

They need to EXPAND these parks to increase potential capacity, not replace attractions which only would bring in a 'different' crowd along with a small initial (uncomfortable) bump after the replacement attraction(s) open. History has shown that crowds to Walt Disney World will only increase, further perpetuated by the increase in Disney rooms on the property. If they don't do this they will have to go back to insane operating hours like they had where there was just the Magic Kingdom (e.g. 8-2am) to handle the crowds. This is especially true at the Magic Kingdom, which is always 'full', and 'packed' during every holiday. That is why I feel that they should continue the Fantasyland expansion into the area behind the (faux) castle, and further propose that in this area they the build a new dual-track (twice the capacity) expanded version of the endlessly popular Peter Pan's Flight along with (the originally proposed) Pixie Hollow, and bring back Mr. Toads Wild Ride (with it's high capacity dual track to hell)...there's plenty of room for all of this. This would vastly increase park capacity, provide a home for the Pixies, bring back a bit of history, open up the old Peter Pan area for an alternate (less demanding) use and meet the demand for Peter Pan, which would be even more popular with a longer modernized attraction taking what we love and making it better...maybe add some magic band magic to it having the characters address each car by name (watch out Debbie)...like ET at Universal tried to do (I never heard it, though)...It would be SO cool if Peter Pan flew up to your flying pirate ship and invited you on the trip to NeverNeverLand then flew off in front into the darkness and you follow into the darkness as the city fades into the distance. Each track could be a mirror image of the other providing a different perspective of the attraction from each track. Furthermore they could/should move the (out-of-place) racetrack to the other side of the train tracks and convert it into electric toon-cars driving through toon-town and open up that entire area to almost double the area of Tomorrow-Land. Oh, and expand Adventureland with the Indiana Jones ride built into the base of Fire Mountain...oooooooo, yes!!! That's all I want...
Hahaha! I mean really, it's not like you're asking for much! ;) Some interesting ideas though!

I love the Muppet Vision show, the pre-show is one of my favourites when Gonzo realises he is tap-dancing with himself is a perfect gag. There are also so many great quotes "what kind of foolishness would you prefer?" "A tribute to all nations, but mostly America".

But the show is also very dated with Waldo the "3D" character. I thin if this was re-done as just a variety of Muppet acts it could be very nice again, maybe even have more acts than the length of the show so a random assortment can be presented? But I really wouldn't want to see this leave the park, the new Muppet movies are bringing the characters back and with some tweaks and a new film they could have a nicely re-imagined show.

I totally agree with you! I think the actual movie needs to be refresh, especially now that with two new Muppets movies, younger guests are more familiar with them!

Agreed. I believe Muppet vision is one of the classics. Maybe a refurbishment would help, but not an overhaul. My dad is not the biggest fan of Disney World (I know, he's crazy) and Muppetvision never fails to make him laugh.

Personally I think that stitch thing they call an attraction in MK is the worst.

^^^THIS. I never got to see the old Alien Encounter, as I was too young, but the whole theme and experience is completely underwhelming at this point.

As for MuppetVision, we've always just enjoyed it as it is. I don't know how I'd feel about an overhaul. I suppose with the new films being so popular, a new show might revive some interest (especially with the young ones), but even as a 'young' person I still like the show the way it is. :confused3

Agreed, was able to go on the attraction before Stitch was involved as Alien Encounter, even got the shirt (though that's been lost\discarded long ago). And though I enjoy the Lilo and Stitch movies, I don't like this attraction.

I do like the MuppetVision though! One of my must do items. And look forward to my daughter getting to experience it as is at some point soon-ish... 2015 hopefully.

I think this was Henson's last muppet project he completed, I think that is one of the reasons they've never changed it. Maybe it could use some updating, but my family enjoys it everytime we visit.

This WAS the last Henson project. It could stand for some updating but it should never be changed!

I love the attraction but have always hated the Waldo CG character. It absolutely never made any sense to have a CG character in a Muppet themed show! Not to mention it never looked good or meshed well with "live" characters. Now it just dates the show something awful.
Refilm the show digital with all Muppets, add maybe several different endings or paths like STs (to keep the ride from becoming stale), and I'll be happy.

Was just there this month and the film looked better than it used to (I believe they recently converted it to digital)...other than the final scene where you get to peek out into a 1980's crowd, there is nothing wrong or outdated with Muppetvision. So many better things they could funnel money towards (and I'm not talking about things that go on your wrist...)

We enjoy Muppet Vision , always a must see, tho could use some refreshing...

I always have to see MV 3D every trip. There's so many layers of detail, and humor directed at each age group.
I think I'd selfishly vote for no upgrade, so the lines stay nonexistant.

Captain EO needs to disappear, though. I last saw it when a torrential downpour drove everyone near into the closest interior attraction. I didn't hear anyone come out say they enjoyed it.

(Disclaimer: I've watched Henson's work back to Sam and Friends)

I have always loved MuppetVision 3D. It's a must-do whenever we visit DHS. And now my kids are getting into the Muppets, so I definitely wouldn't want it to disappear. I think I'd be ok with an overhaul if the original elements are preserved (the pre-show, the "live" muppet(s) appearing in the theater, the destruction of the theater in general).

As for Captain EO, this is a classic and it was great to have it back for a brief encore performance, but I think the intent all along was to close it after the re-run. I remember seeing it when EPCOT first opened and being amazed. It was still fun to see it again on our trip last October, but it definitely has limited appeal.

More agreement!

The Muppets has been one of my family's must do attractions over the years. My kids also love the pre show, and know most of it by heart. I really hope they can update it somehow. I would hate for it to be removed entirely. Hate to see the 3D's go!

It could certainly stand to be remastered. I was at Disneyland not long ago and that one has been remastered--the difference in the experience is incredible.

If the latest Muppet movie is a success, maybe it could finally give Disney execs an incentive to give Kermit and co. a much larger presence in the parks.
