Okay.... I thought, with all the excitement and all... and with a bunch of us heading to US/IOA before the offical opening and hoping and praying that Mummy is open for a sneak peek...

I thought a thread of been there today, it is open thread would be appropreate (sp)

I LIKE THIS THREAD!!! Great Idea lets stay on top of this...going May 12 -19, wont bother going to Universal unless its open....I remember with Mickeys Philharmagic...they opened it a few days before the grand opening, OH PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE :thewave:

They already has the sneak peek.

There is a possibility that it will be in sneak-peek mode again the week of the Grand Opening, but it will not be open for the rest of this week or next week.

I WANT MY MUMMY!!!! I WANT MY MUMMY!!!!!! Oh, excuse me. I am getting carried away. The stress is killing me. If I don't get to see it I will be sooooooooooooooo disappointed. PLEASE, please soft openings for the next few weeks. Sheesh, this vacation is supposed to be relaxing, not stressful!!! LOL BTW, great thread. I'll be checking every day.

We will be there May 13and 14th then moving to WDW 15-16th, but we would high tail it back to US if we find it is open...

Soooooooo does anyone know if you call US will they confirm or deny Mummy is open on a particular day??

Just returned from Florida (25 April) and the Mummy will NOT open before 21 May. We asked when we went to Universal - it had been open for odd days the previous 2 weeks but every crew member we asked were adamant that it will have no more openings until 21 May.

I think they'll have a little prequel to the grand opening. They'll have to give it a run to check the new effects they add a work-out!!

That's my hope too (my trip is for the 12th -16th) you would have to think they would want to make sure the new effects work and the final project is what they want it to be before they show it all the world on the 21st!?!

The mummy was closed today while I was at the park - May 1st


Tip: Never put your MIB gun away before the end of the ride. I did today and when we spun at the end, it flew out and hit my foot... while wearing flops OUCH!

Keep this going please..just found out I will be there for one day on May 16th...hoping it is open or I have to wait till December to ride it...Any info is helpful of folks who have just been there...

You should be fine for May 16th.

I read somewhere that on May 14th that a local radio station will be having a remote from USF, and they're basically advertising that Mummy will be open. Of course, anything can change between now and then, but it does sound like RotM will be open before the Grand Opening.

As for this thread, I think tis rather premature, I'm fairly certain the ride will NOT be opening in the next week.

I got an email from a travel group that states:

"Wraps come off May 21...
