Multiple trips in a studio or 1 trip in a 1 bedroom(a year)

We bought DVC to stay in 1+ bedrooms because we knew with 2 kids we would want the room.

I love the idea of going to wdw a couple times a year but wud have to stay in studios with dh and 2 kids (4 and 2). Is it worth it? Too tight? If we got a 1 bedroom we couldn't go as often. Thoughts?

I think with little kids you will do just fine in a studio. We've done it easily with three adults, so with little ones you should be fine.

We switch off, a one bedroom one trip, a studio another. This way we get multiple trips a year. Sometimes we are there for 5 or 6 nights, other's 3 or 4 nights. It works great for us.

Good luck planning and many happy vacations!

We have stayed in the Allstars and POR,, so moving up to DVC, the Studios are more then enough. Our trip in March is split between Value studio at AKL and studio at Beach club. Cant see us spending too much time in the rooms. And when we do, our girls 2 and 6 sleep (nap) with us there with no problem. And the balcony is there for us too.

I originally purchased my DVC interest with the intentions of booking studio accommodations. I must say, however, that my recent stay in a BLT 1-Bedroom has spoiled me.

I plan to add on in the next 2-3 years with enough points to do 7-10 nights in a studio, followed by another 5-6 night trip in a 1-Bedroom the same year.

Actually both.. :thumbsup2 I Split stay 4 nights studio followed by 4 nights 1 bedroom, and pack enough for a load of laundry in the middle. It save points, and the 1st few days we are there we are park crazy, and by day 5 .. we pool relax and get up late.. It also allows partial DP/DDP trips.

I cannot stay more than 5/6 nights in a studio, and cannot afford 1 whole yrs points for 1 trip.

We've always gone for the fewer trips in the 1 BR, although there's just two of us. That's because DH only has a finite amount of vacation, and he can't take more than one week at a time due to the nature of his job. So we've always wanted maximum quality relaxation (and the laundry) so we've gone for the 1 BR. Now it's going to be interesting in the future-DH just announced to his boss that he'll be retiring next June, so he'll have unlimited vacation time. We'll see what happens then, although I suspect that now that we've been in 1 BRs, we won't want to "go back" to studios.

I think it depends on transportation costs. For us, we are in the $1500+ just for flights, so we stay longer at one time and go less frequently. If we could drive, we might stay in studios, though frankly, I think it saves us money to have a kitchen, and it keeps us sane with more space.
