I have a reservation already booked for a 2 BR at OKW for May 25-29, 2010. It is our intention to get the dining plan for those 4 nights. Now we are thinking about adding another night on the tail end of the ressie and go to Universal that Saturday ( is that blasphemy? :lmao:) for the new wizarding world of Harry Potter. Here is my question...IF I can get a new reservation for the extra night, I assume I can link the two so I would not have to change rooms. Is that correct? Also, since these are two separate reservations, would I be able to get the dining plan for the 4 night ressie only and not have to purchase it for the one night ressie since we would not be at WDW? Am I understanding everything correctly?

If the reservations are linked, you will have to get the DDP for all nights of both.

I saw your name and replied "Who Dat" before I read your post!

We'll be there that week too and we are checking out on Fri...but were also thinking of adding the Fri night for HP but the points are so much those Fri and Sat nights. I talked to a travel agent at AAA and she told me that if you stay at a Universal hotel you get something similar to a fast pass which will be helpful since HP will be new. We have never ever cheated on The Mouse but we are going to finally have to do it for HP. I need to find out more about Universal. http://www.universalorlando.com/Tickets/special_offers/UniversalExpress/universalexpress.aspx

If you add a night to your ressie you'll have to have the DP that night as well. If you moved rooms you could avoid that.

I don't mean to repeat myself but WHO DAT!

If they are not linked, you probably will have to move. You'll have to check out and in again. If they are linked, it's one reservation - and this is something that DVC said they were going to do to help members out - link all reservatinos - and that means no DDP for part of the trip.

Agreed if they are linked.. another dining day. If they are not, you may have to move. If the dining plan is in the way, just book seperate, and beg when you get there. .. I checked in and out 1 time, because hubby wasn't coming until 6 days into a 10 - 11 day trip. I couldn't pay for dining the whole time, and I needed ME for him to be picked up at airport. They did give me the same room. I had to go to the front desk ect. .. On the plus size if they are seperate.. free house keeping for a day :)
