Just wondering if its possible to make multiple PS' for the same nite? Example:

May 10 - MK
5:00 pm @ CP
5:30 pm @ CRT
6:00 pm @ LTT

Don't mean to sound greedy or unethical with PS. This way you can keep your options open depending on your mood that night. It guess at the end of the day, it becomes a no show (no cancellation) for 2 PS'.

Thanks in advance for your comments/replys. :sunny:

IMHO, that is just wrong. Especially since it has been reported that you can only get into a table service restaurant if you have a PS, if you have mulitples, that would seem to me to be compounding the problem. I understand what you are saying though, I just don't think I could do that with a clear conscience.

Wow, put on your flame retardant suit. I haven't been in a few years, so I will defer to others' opinions......I am worried about ya though! :smooth:

:p Excuse me for offending anybody too. :)

The OP's thinking isn't far off. I made PS for Teppanyaki the other day. We will either have 10 of us or 5 of us. I asked her if I should call back and cancel or will it be a pleasant surprise for another family that would like to walk up and be seated. She said don't bother to call and cancel and you will make someone unexpectedly happy. On past trips, I rarely made ps's and had no problem walking up and being seated within a reasonable time because 40% of ps went without being claimed. So given that, I don't see a problem with the OP's thinking. I am just wondering if it would be noticed by the CM taking the PS.

I hope you are prepared for the responses you're about to get.

But to answer you the CMs are not suppose to let you double book PSs. I know one person on here got wrongly accused for doing this several months ago and the CM got very angry with them. I'm sure people have gotten around it but it's not right. Sorry. You'd be taking away from someone else getting a PS that night esp the three restaurants you have picked. All three of these are very popular restaurants. Some people calling everyday until their trips to get into them.

To the OP, let me know if it works. I am up in the air about our first night's dinner. ;)

I am sorry, but I would be extremely offended if a CM, whose job is customer service and whose goal is to make me happy that I am spending my money at the "happiest place on earth" got angry with me. I would report that person in a nano second. The CM could say, "I am sorry but you can only have one PS for a given time, or an evening, etc", but to express anger. The thought is outrageous. I think too often those of us who vacation in Disney forget who the paying customer is.

Why do you think it would be greedy or unethical?

i think you should try your best to commit to one restaurant. i don't think you are a bad person or that this is a huge deal, but since some restaurants are totally booked, it just seems like the right thing to do. i have one night where i have double booked, and i will cancel the extra ps today or tomorrow (for a june trip). i see the point that the reservation will be filled with a walk-in if you don't show, but i think those who plan ahead and work hardest at their vacation should be rewarded first. just my opinion.

On the other hand, there are those who don't micro plan their Disney vacations because they don't anticipate that they need to. I would be very upset as a first time guest to discover that there was no seating in any of the full service restaurants without priority seating. They are spending as much money, they are anticipating their vacation as much as any of the micro planners and yet, they may be disappointed. I think that PS should only apply to 60% of the seating and there should be seating left for walk ins. I have been going to WDW for 25 years. I hate the prior planning that I feel forced to do for this upcoming trip but we are sponsoring my BIL and his family and I would feel terrible if they didn't have a quality Disney experience. I know that they won't ever get to go again and I also know that they wouldn't know that they had to plan to this degree. I think a Disney experience is for those who "know" as well as those "who don't".

gee, dawn, it doesn't seem that hard to me. i am going for the 3rd time ever and i have figured it out. besides i was simply stating my opinion in a completely non-threatening way that 3 ps's for one meal is a bit excessive. god forbid i don't jive with what one of the "happiest people on earth been to disney 45 million timers". seems that you cannot say one friggin thing on this board without getting your head chopped off at the stem. frankly i have had it.

guess what - i like gay people, i use a stroller and i may hit someone with it, i micro manage all of my vacations, i don't just go to disney on vacation, i think people who go to disney 4-5 times a year are weird, i think adults who wear tigger and pooh overalls are a little odd, i cuss a lot, and while disney is pretty fun i am basically sick of you holier than thouers who can't stand to be questioned. you can take this entire board and shove it.

A few people have posted Disney is starting to cancel guests with multiple PS.

You asked for comments; I'd say it's RUDE AND SELFISH to make PS you know you have no intention of keeping. Make one and if you change your mind switch it.

Seems a bit harsh to me...but everyone has an opinion and here's mine. This is my family's first trip to WDW. I am an aobsessive planner, but if I were not I would have NEVER imagined I had to plan all of our meals 90 days in advance. What other vacation can you think of that you have to plan that much? We don't travel much, but I can't think of any.
I have not double or triple booked any PS's. I really wanted to go to Le Cellier and called for a week straight to get in for dinner. I finally got one, but I would have been very upset if someone booked and did not show and I made other plans because I could not get a PS. Does that make sense?
I totally understand your reasoning, I really did not want to be on a rigid schedule, but apperently it's the WDW way. I hope this helps. :confused3

this is the first trip I have made mutiple PS for the same seating....only dinners....

simply because we went on an impromptu trip May 1st weekend with no dining arrangements and could not get PS anywhere (dinner) once we got to WDW.....

that being said....I redid my itinerary and only have two dinners planned one night....Le Cellier and Mexico....for next week...still have not made the decision but I will cancel one...

I think it is awful if you book and don't plan on showing but I think as long as you cancel it's fine....the majority of places I have been have never had a problem getting in to - on the spot...I mean last week we got PSB for breakfast.....but no where in the "world" for dinner (other than Concourse after 9pm)

and ya know what....it really doesn't matter what others think...

and why wouldn't a CM allow you to "double book"??? We are going next week..my mom and sister decided to join us WAY after I had made PS....so I went from a bunch of 4 PS to now having to seat 6....some of them could not be changed so I kept ALL my originals and changed the ones I could but still ended up with a double booking one night.....SLAP ME!

This is the only trip I have done this...prior to this I only had PS for dinner each night and was lucky enough to get CRT and PSB ressies onsite....maybe if they start taking a cc for each reservation....I would gladly leave it...

I had made my ps for our upcoming trip for our family of 5. Then there started to be the possibility that my in laws would be joining us. When I called back, I asked if I could add the 2 to my reservation and then just cancel the two off if they did not come. I was told no. They told me to make another PS for 7, keep the PS for 5 and then cancel one as we get closer to the date. I am glad we didn't cancel the 5 because it looks like the inlaws won't be joining us due to health reasons. Although my husband is holding out hope.

Based on this, I do think it is OK to make more than one, but I think cancelling them before hand is the proper thing to do so someone can definately get in if that is what they are looking for.

I also would be very angry if they cancelled any of my PS without contacting me first. What if I was making reservations for a family who wanted to go 3 separate ways? I could see this happening if you have parents taking grown children and their families to Disney (which is something I hope to do when my children are grown and I have grandchildren). I could see me making all the reservations for everyone and just putting my name on it.

Just my two cents.

Lisa :)

You need to calm down! I am glad you are going for the 3rd time ever. For those going for the first time, the planning involved just for meals is a bit off putting. I don't think I was chopping your head off, only offering another opinion. After more than 26 visits to WDW, I do not like micromanaging my Disney vacations. I prefer to find a restaurant that I like where I am at the moment. We don't spend hours in the park and if we get caught in the rain at the Beach Club I don't mind eating at Cape May and scrapping my original plans. The way things are now, that kind of spontaneiaty seems almost impossible. A seat a Disney won't go empty. Check in is 15 minutes prior to seating. Within five minutes after seating, that seat is gone. I agree with the poster who also said that when you are traveling with a larger family, teens, extended family, that not everyone wants to dine at the same place. On the first night 5 of us are going to Portobello's Yacht Club, the other five the Hoop di Do. And finally, I try not to cuss. It's rude.

My goodness you all seem a very touchy lot, I read this thread 'cos I wondered too if this was the way things are done in Disney, I've been a couple of times with no pre planning and ,yes, found it hard to get a seat at a good table service dinner when I wanted one, I think the original poster was trying to get round the fact that he/her DIDN'T want to plan every single footstep for the day and wouldn't automatically know where he'd end up early evening, I thought that every one made seating plans this way but I guess I was wrong, I also don't think that its either a good or bad idea to microplan, many DISsers seem to forget that Disney IS a once in a lifetime trip especially to those overseas and they DON'T KNOW that everyone else plans every single meal of every day, I also agree with the poster who said that no other vacation in the world would require this much advance planning - thats's so true, maybe all DISsers (and I include myself in that) should just chill a bit and let the first timers get a choice for their mealtimes

I do remember an isolated thread about CMs cancelling multiple PS on their own. I don't remember any further follow up.

I called 90 days out for each one of my PS. Because they don't release later dinner times at some of the restaurants, I had a 5 :20 PS at LTT. I also had a 1:45 PS at CRT. One CM saw that on the computer and tried to talk me into cancelling one of them. I simply told her that if I didn't get a later time for LTT I would cancel one of them. (I've now got just one PS a day.) I also originally had a 4 pm Brown Derby FDP PS and a 6 pm regular Brown Derby PS - I made them in two separate calls and neither one of them were canceled by a CM. (I cancelled both when I got a 6 pm FDP.)

So, bottom line is that I think you CAN make all those PS (wth separate calls). Others have already weighed in on whether you should....
