1st question has anyone had a pianist at an outdoor location like the yc gazebo? can this be done? i have a particular song for my processional & it is meant to be played on piano. or has anyone used a cd for a song during the ceremony? how would you work that, get a dj/sound system?

2nd question can you provide the music to your dj for the reception on cd rewrittables? we know exactly what songs we want played at the reception & some are hard to find/off the beaten path. can you give a list or provide the music for the dj to play at your reception?

3rd question when you select the dj with disney do you get to pick who? & who has everyone used for their disc jockey, experiences?

Disney will assign you a DJ about 3-4 weeks prior to your wedding...but being the planner that I am, I wanted to do some homework. I heard about DJ Scooter and researched him online. I talked with his wife and discussed his style and personality. I knew right away that it would be a fit for us and our guests. He was available for our date so I had his wife put me in the books. I then told my EM (or whatever they're called now) that I had chosen him for our DJ. He then contacted him and arranged everything. I know that DJ Scooter does a lot of Disney weddings as well as Disney events. He was the DJ at EPCOT on New Year's Eve (the day after our wedding).

Yup I had an outdoor pianist for our YCG wedding I had an outside PA system which IMHO is very necessary for the YCG if you have more than 15 guests

Costs:
1 Keyboardist (we were given the guy that plays at Tarzan Rocks) = $720
Powered speaker package = $150
Mixer = $50
cd player = $60
wireless mike = $140

TOTAL = $1,120 without tax and stuff

We figured as we didn't need to pay for a dance floor at Ariels we were breaking even ;)

We needed the mike and the cd player as well for readings and a girlfriend sang for us during our Unity candle and she used an instrumental CD.

I provided our DJ with a list - I think it's fair to give the DJ any particular songs that you want and he doesn't have which should be discussed with him a couple of weeks before the wedding - otherwise he or she can work from the list fine - also give a DO NOT play list if there are songs that you don't want to hear.

Yup Disney selected our DJ - I had heard about Scooter too but decided to go with the flow and we got assigned DJ Richie who was just right for us - I've been to another Disney wedding and that was another DJ (same one that fireflypixie had too but I can't remember his name) anyway he was awesome as well. Video's I've seen of Scooter show how fun he is. To be honest I've only ever heard one nightmare story of a bad DJ and he was never used again by Disney so you can't really go wrong.

thanks so much for the info & suggestions ladies! that is exactly what i needed to know. :goodvibes

fantasia sam - who turned the cd on/off for your unity candle song?

LOL I have no idea it certainly wasn't any of my guests or Sandra - I think it was either the pianist or my EM oh and there was also a Cast Member from Entertainment there and I remember another CM too but I wasn't sure what she was doing - LOL I just remember a whole entourage of Disney people and I was saying to my brother as we were walking up the aisle - wow I feel sooo important - the whole process was very well staged :)
