DH and I were *thinking* about buying DVC

We would buy resale and was wondering about the booking rules.

If we have 2 different "home bases" how does it work with reservations?

Would we be entitled to book 11 months out on either location and would just transfer the points from the resort we are not going to?

Does this make sense to anyone? not sure if i am explaining myself correctly!!

If you have two contracts under the same membership (same UY, titled the same way) but different home resorts, you can combine the points for reservations at the 7 month mark.

At the 11 month mark, you can only use the points for each home resort at that home resort. So, if you own 100 BLT and 100 AKV, you can only book with 100 BLT points at 11 months, unless you have banked BLT points or want to borrow more BLT points.

There are some who do have two home resort and do as you mention, they bank one resort and borrow the other so that they can travel every other year to each resort.

exactly the answer I was looking for!!!
Thanks so much

do u know how hard it is to book the grand villas?
The reason we would buy is to get the grand villas so we could have all the family down with us, but I am not sure how easy they are to get

I have never seen one open for a cash reservation

You can book a reservation up to 11 months ahead of time (Home Resort Priority).

You can pool your points (from the other resort(s) you own) at 7 months.

Example - you own 100 points at BCV and 100 points at AKV.

You decide to stay at BCV. At 11 months out, you can use your 100 BCV points to book at BCV only. At 7 months out, you can then add in your AKV points. Assuming there is availability, at 7 months out you would have 200 points to use.

I hope this makes sense!

I have never tried but from everything that I have read, they are something you want to book during home resort period as they go fast, especially the ones at OKW because they are such a great value.
