Hello everyone! First time poster and soon to be owner, once we figure out exactly what we want to do. I've looked through a lot of great information here about how stuff works, but there is one thing where I'm still not sure I have the nuances straight.

Say I have 150 points at BCV and 150 at SSR on the same use year. For 2010 I use the BCV and bank the 150 for SSR. In my 2011 use year, can I use the 150 banked from SSR and the 150 2011 BCV points to reserve a 300 point trip to BCV at 11 months or do I still have to split the reservation and try back at 7 months for the SSR banked points? Thanks for any help understanding this.

11 month booking window is only good for that specific resort's points.
But you could borrrow from the next year to get your 300 pt BCV reservation.

Thanks! I knew that was how it worked for the current year, I just wasn't sure how it applied to banked points at another resort.

Home resort points will always be home resort points. It doesn't matter if you bank them or transfer them, they never change and the 11/7 month rules will always apply.

If the UY is the same, you probably don't have different contracts. Just an add on to the original contract. It makes it easier if they are not different contracts.

When booking a vacation between 11 months and 7 months out, one cannot mix points from different home resorts to book at a single resort. Banking has nothing to do with this.

Think about it. If one could mix points from different home resorts to book at 11 months, then people could just buy a little bit of what they really want and a lot of what they don't want (because presumably it's cheaper) and the result is that those who bought all of their points at the more expensive resort would be effectively locked out of their home resort.
