If I make 5 different ADRs for restaurants in EPCOT for the same night and just pick the one we feel like while were there is that OK? Are there any cancellation fees for their resaurants?

I assume you are not asking a moral question here. Should you is its own issue. There are a limited number of these and it is frowned on for good reason. There may be 4 people who do not get an ADR at all because you have 4 extras.

Yes you could, if you choose to. In Epcot the only ressie that has a deposit that I can think of is the Storybook meals in Norway. I doubt you could do it all in one phone call, though it would depend on the CM.

Edit to add: You are new here so I am sure you didn't mean to start a war, but you have. Some people feel extreamly strongly about this topic. I perdict this thread will be locked soon.

Have fun with this one

Would you like some popcorn??? :confused3 :teeth: I have room on the couch if you want to sit and watch.

I would love some, but I couldn't find the popcorn eating guy :confused3 I will still gladly sit back and watch the fun

When I called to straighten out my ADRs (I had changed them several times) I asked the CM to read out my list of times and places. There were a few that didn't get canceled when I changed my ADR so I had a few multiples. I asked her what they do about the multiple ressies and she said that they would cancel multiples. Scary!! So, double check and make sure you only have one ADR for each meal!!

I hope that Disney does cancel out for people that has more than one ADR. It's not fair to the people that are trying to book and especially during busy times of the year.

I will be arriving late afternoon 10/1. I made a reservation at Alfredo's with friends. I then realized the park closes early so I would be paying to go into the park just to eat! Wipes out the free dining deal! So I tried to get one at MK so I could enjoy the park after we ate. Couldn't get anything after 6PM till Sunday! I had made an ADR for Boma's just in case. I immediately cancelled the two I won't be using. Please do the same. Even if you leave yourself 2 in case they are in different parks, everyone will be grateful.

You're joking, right???? I mean, why on earth would you actually want to make 5 reservations for the same night. Okay, so I really liked the sound of 2 Epcot restaurants. Guess what? We'll be in Epcot two nights so we can enjoy both of these restaurants. PLEASE pick which restaurant you like best and make 1 (one) reservation for each night and let other people have a chance at eating where they SERIOUSLY want to eat at.

Thank you!

I don't believe this is true. They can cancel mulitples - they are technically capable of it. But they don't in practice - too much work.

They used to call when someone had mulitples for CRT - to cancel one of them. But now that they have the deposit requirement, I don't think they need to worry about someone taking two.

Do a search on the topic and you will see that:

Most people find the practice to be selfish, unneccessary and self-indulgent behavior, especially with certain ADR's being increasingly difficult to obtain and if, for example, a large number of people made 5 ADR's for every one they would actually end up using, the system would be clogged and overwhelmed with no-shows.

Some will defend the practice, basically saying, there is no written rule saying that it is against Disney policy and that it is too difficult to know which park they will be in on which day.

People have made multiples with no problem, however I have seen several threads where people were angry because Disney *did* cancel multiple ADR's when they noticed a pattern of abuse in the system. Someone also received a call from Disney asking which one they wanted and which one they didn't (they had 2 ADR's at the same restaurant) It is impractical for Disney to spend the time and money needed to double check every person's ADR's. However, if they do notice it, they have the authority to cancel all of them, and have in a few cases exercised that right.

Morally, I think it's inconsiderate. Factually, I think it is risky, because there is a chance any or all of them could be cancelled.

My personal opinion is that a good way to cut down on this practice would be releasing park hours before ADR eligibility, not after. Until (or IF, I should say!) that ever happens, the best thing to do is to make a plan, make your ADR's and then after park hours come out, call WDW Dining and see if you can switch some things around, always making sure to cancel your unneccessary ADR's.

I would but I'm still too full from dinner. How 'bout a delicious Barq's rootbeer from one of the park's counter service menus :teeth:

I have a front row seat.

your in 2nd row!!!! I was here first! :teeth: I get front row. Just kidding...come on in and squeeze through.

It is amazing to me that you might think that this is ok to do. There are a few of us out here that would love to get into a place but we can not because it is booked. I think the right thing to do is make 1 ADR for the place you really want. Then if you change your mind, go up and ask at the new place if they have any seating available. If they do call and cancel your ADR. If not, go to your ADR and try the other place another time.

Please
Debbie

Want some popcorn while this person tries and justifies why it's so right to do this?
I love popcorn, does it have real butter on it?

Ya know, I think we are all keeping this thread alive. The OP has never been back. Could have been an honest question. Could have been a troll. :confused3

Anyone want to play quarters???
