Hi! I've been searching and browsing the stickies, but haven't seen any threads that really covered our specific scenario. I'm hoping that someone will have some advice for me. Here's our situation: we have 2 trips planned in the next year, and I'll be doing the planning for both trips. The first trip is in December, and will be just our immediate family (DH and our 2-year-old twins). The second trip is in March, and we will be joined by my parents, brother, SIL, niece, and nephew. My dad is being very generous and is covering all of our theme park tickets for the March trip. My DH and I are DVC, and are covering the hotel portion. My dad is going to buy the tickets for DH and I early, so that we can upgrade them to the DVC AP while we are in WDW for the December trip (we will of course pay the difference).
Because I haven't been to the parks since MDE and FP+ have been in the picture, I'm not sure what the best way to handle this. If I get all of the ADRs and FP+ reservations made for the December trip in advance, I'll be using the confirmation number from the park hopper tickets. Am I still able to upgrade to the DVC AP without totally goofing up the rest of our FP+ plans for the same trip? I will not be making any FP+ reservations for the March trip until we are done with the December trip, so I don't think that there is any issue there. I'm just not really sure about the upgrade part of the scenario.
Also, I assume that I'll need to get everyone's MDE accounts set up and shared prior to our 60 day window, so that I can try to get the Anna and Elsa FP when the bookings open up. Are there any other tips or issues that I need to be aware of for the multi-family booking? I'll read up on the sharing/copying and other FAQs, too, but figured I'd ask while I am here. I'm planning on waiting until fall to start reviewing live reports on how FP+ is working, since I assume that it may change between now and when I'll be making our group FP+ reservations.
